I really think this has to be one of the least enjoyable Ranger lineups that I've had the privilege of cheering for. Passionless, soft, lacking direction or clearly defined roles. IT's been a long time since I've seen a team consistently respond less to crosschecks, shoves, hard checks, etc. Watching the Winnipeg game, Andrew Ladd seems to be exactly the type of player the Rangers are missing. Someone with some size and tenacity who can play on the top lines. I don't know if this is gonna make sense, btu it really feels like we have no "power" on the top lines. Kreider is big and tough but he's still a rookie, Nash is big but plays like he's a afraid and doesn't hit, Richards, Zucc, Hags, Brass, none of them capable of bringing that MEssier-presence to the top lines. In terms of "force of will", it feels like this team is going to be outmatched every single game.

I mean Stepan made a pretty tremendous defensive play right in front of the net

irrelevant. I use my old scratched up Teflon frying pan as a trash and prep waste depository when I'm working with messy prep. It's super easy to wash compared to a plastic bin. As a frying pan though, it's completely and entirely useless. We don't need him to play defense.

Ah my bad. Watching it with the sound off. Then we have an even better shot at winning. UNLESS the backup curse is in full force.

Well he is like 6' 5" and we always have trouble with big goalies but we'll bounce back.

So we can't discuss when he makes a bad play because certain people don't want to hear it? OK, then.

Because Bird Law, you're beating a dead horse.

Call him out when he makes a bad play, like everyone else does.

His defense has been solid. Not great. Solid.

The problem is that he's completely listless in the offensive and neutral zones. I could accept that from Boyle (someone who I don't expect to score and who I expect to play solid defense).

From Stepan? No. I expect more.

No, it's been great. He plays against some of the toughest 5v5 competition this team faces and manages to tilt the ice towards the other side.

You're really downplaying how good he's been not offensively. And he's been on-fire since the Olympics offensively.

Come on, Jon. You can't call him an abortion when he's been arguably our best forward since the break. If he didn't slump offensively pre-olympics he'd be one of the best centers in the league. He's already an elite 2C at 24 years old.

No it's not. It's his most recent 20 game sample.

How is using his most recent eight game sample any more valid?

A 20 game sample size is more indicative of overall play than eight or nine games. Simple statistics.

Uh, first off, you used a 22-game sample.

And, please, man. It's a clear example of cherry picking. I'm using his post-Olympic stats since I said he's been average since the Olympic break.

Because Bird Law, you're beating a dead horse. 12 pages now?

I suppose I'm partly to blame, because I'm feeding the troll.

Call him out when he makes a bad play, like everyone else does, but than don't continue to jump on it to spam the thread about how bad he is.

I'm serious in asking a moderator that because these GDT's have been taken out of control and have totally lost context when a goal is scored.

Right, so me disagreeing with you and saying Hank hasn't been playing well is now "trolling?" Wow. This is so utterly ridiculous.

And yes. You are to blame. Want to know why? You keep responding. Feel free to agree-to-disagree whenever you want. Or you can keep responding and keep wondering why people are responding.

Guys, Its 2-1 after 1 period of hockey

That's why I'm not concerned yet.

Although, if we go into the 3rd period down a goal, I'll be concerned. We simply have not been generating enough offense to not discount a one goal deficit.

We already got a big goal by Nash.

St. Louis and Richards care to join the party?

Let's hope it continues. I'm so jaded on him from earlier in the year that I honestly am probably watching him with more scrutiny than I should be.
