This team sucks because the players that are paid to be our best players are rarely, if ever, our best players. MSL with 0 goals since he got here, Richards, Nash, and Hank too. Hank hasn't been great, but if the team in front of him played like they were capable of and like their salaries suggest they should, we'd be in a much better spot. This season, without Hank for stretches, Zuc, and Ryan McAwesome, we'd be nothing.

So you're including his great pre-Olympic streak to boost his numbers? Lol.

He's had a .915 since the break. He's been pretty average. He's not being paid to be average.

He had a crap start, a tremendous pre-Olympic break period, and is now average at best.

Listen if anyone is surprised that we missed the playoffs after the mostly inconsistent play for much of this season then please turn in your NYR fan card. I said it in November I would be surprised if they made the playoffs. Not making the playoffs was expected by me.
 
Stepan is useless. He's the reason why this team is failing. He should have just held out for the season. Complete drain on this team.

Could not agree more. Every goal leads to 10 pages of discussion as to how he never gets blamed for a goal, even though every objective fan will call him out on it. Ive even noticed some users with low post counts who have a history of slamming Lundqvist to troll.

If its required, Id be all for creating a Lundqvist Goal Analysis thread, to remove the ridiculous nature of every GDT and make it that, a discussion about the game.

I dont think there is one other forum where every goal their goaltender lets up leads to 10 pages of discussion.
 
My theory is that we dont really have many good passers on this team. other than Zucc is our best passer but after that it is a steep drop. Stepan has been a very inconsistent passer and richards is pretty much done. Obviously we need to score more but better passing creates more space and scoring chances

1st goal was awful and Hank having a good game stops that.

You're right about the second goal.

At the end of the day the only thing that matters are the goals he let in. Sadly for Lundqvist he has been known to let soft goals in his entire career. There is no disputing that. At the end of the day all that matters is the score at the end of the game. He could make 100 fantastic saves in a row, If he let's in 3 goals & two of them are soft & we lose 3-2 well you can figure the rest out.
 
although the team is not playing very well since the Olympic break.... hank needs to be feeling some heat... you are the highest paid goalie for a reason... to win games. He has been average at best all season and im still waiting:help:
 
The Rangers are FAR too stupid to adapt to Ottawa's skilled, fast moving game.

It's adorable when people say the Rangers don't have bad luck. "you make your own luck". I'm watching a guy who will make the Hall of Fame transition to a player who can't even complete a ****ing pass overnight once he joined the Rangers.

Can't wait for this dreadful season to be over. Nothing is more disheartening than busting my ass for 10 hours at work and then coming home to watching these mouth-breathers suck at their jobs night in and night out.

There are some extremes on Lundqvist but the real issue, I say onto you all, is Derek Stepan.
