irrelevant. I use my old scratched up Teflon frying pan as a trash and prep waste depository when I'm working with messy prep. It's super easy to wash compared to a plastic bin. As a frying pan though, it's completely and entirely useless. We don't need him to play defense.

Not sure if serious.

The first goal should have been stopped. An elite goaltender that is payed top wages is expected to stop shots from 60 feet out. This goal is on Hank and Boyle for the giveaway.

The second goal was the result of great passing on a power play and the whiff on the first shot threw Hank off. That is a goal that most goalies will let in. Can't blame him for that one.

It is really frustrusting that some posters defend Hank no matter how bad of a game he plays. He has been inconsistent this year. Last game he played great and made a lot of tough saves. This game, not so much. Those posters that think he can do no wrong should just sew your lips directly to Hank's ass and save us all a lot of time.

Ok enough already.

Theres only one kind of shot on goal where a goalie is blameless, and that's a one-timer.

If you're screened, move out to cut down angles. Any puck the goalie sees is a shot he's capable if stopping.

If its a breakaway, hes absolutely the ONLY guy you could blame.

Where did this idea come from that goalies are above blame? I bet from somebody who had a goalie poster over their bed.

Taking bets on todays Kreider penalty, Mine is on 15:30 played in the third period with the Rangers trailing 2-3

Agreed. I think that the second goal is debatable and I'm willing to concede that it wasn't that bad. I still think he should have had it, but he didn't and the team needs to move on from it.

I'd like to see Hank come out and make some tough saves this period to try and re-build his confidence. He needs it.

Well, we saw it in the Giants thread a lot, too, where Eli was above the blame for much of the year. It just seems that certain players are held to a different standard than others. Although I blame the media for that more than random people.

I really think that second goal wasn't too bad... he missed the puck and it through off hank...no goalie will be able to stop a head fake that was by accident

Of all the arguments made about Lundqvist, stop with the salary argument. It's spiteful and petty.

Created an all purpose Lundqvist thread.

Feel free to chat about anything regarding Lundqvist there (contract, current play, goals he let up, saves he has made, etc.).

Let's get back to talking about the game.

That's why I'm not concerned yet.

Although, if we go into the 3rd period down a goal, I'll be concerned. We simply have not been generating enough offense to not discount a one goal deficit.

We already got a big goal by Nash.

St. Louis and Richards care to join the party?

Cangelosi.........."good news for the Devils , Ottawa is leading the Rangers 2-1 ." The Devils have 71 points and down 3-1 vs Boston . He must be nuts.

My problem here, though, is that most of us DON'T hold Hank above blame. The first goal was awful.

The second goal, though, is what happens when the top competition in the NHL play against each other. Elite passing sometimes leads to scoring chances that beat elite goalies.

Hank hasn't been one of the best goalies in the league this year...as he has been EVERY OTHER YEAR since. But, he's been better than a lot of people admit and because of how bad he was in December some overexaggerate every friggin' goal thats scored.

If Hank gives up goals like the 1st the rest of this game, we're in serious trouble. If it takes plays like the second goal,we can still get the W.

So, you don't want folks discussing a Ranger player in a Ranger game day thread? :help:

I would be willing to do so if some of the Hank bashers here had some semblance of hockey knowledge.

One team absolutely dominates in quality chances and some believe the blame sits with the goaltender. Uneffingbelievable.

More amazingly, almost every single game the other team has more quality scoring chances than the Rangers. Tough way to win.
