Wonder how Tolchinsky would fare in the NHL nowadays? He’s been pretty good in the KHL for a handful of seasons now. Also feel like the NHL has adopted back smaller skilled forwards into the game again.
I still don't know if he'd do that well, very elusive player but he didn't have that extra gear from a skating standpoint like Gaudreau has or surprising physicality that guys like Gerbe or Marchand have. Also still a bit too much of an East-West player for the NHL game unfortunately.

The list of leading scorers in the KHL might give you a clue about how well he'd do in the NHL.

He's got great hands, it's the overall skating that holds him back I think...speed and strength on his skates. He'd probably get 1st year Necas-ed a LOT

Better than Alex Galchenyuk, worse than Alex Radulov.

Pretty good player! :sarcasm:

There's really nothing more to discuss with him until he comes over to NA... He's already basically mastered the KHL lol. Will keep enjoying the scoring and hits highlights we see until he comes over but it really can't come soon enough at this point
Shall we just dedicate this thread to steamy fan fics then?

Yeah, there is no transfer agreement in place between the KHL and the NHL. So we are waiting at his leisure, essentially. Right now he wants to finish out his KHL contract. Hopefully once thats finished he will sign with us.
We have to wait for his contract to be over. We can’t buy his contract out via a fee like leagues with a transfer agreement

Not formally but we could in theory pay SKA to buy him out of his contract I believe then he could just sign here

Not at his leisure -- even if he wanted to come over today he wouldn't be able to. NHL won't let us play games with trying to sign him while SKA has him under contract.

I don’t think we could give nikishin enough in a signing bonus to make a buyout possible
