There's a difference betwenn saying it's difficult vs saying he should be absolved completely of blame. You and nevesis seem to be trying to give 100% of the credit to Niemi while robbing Brassard of the blame he most certainly earned. Ironically Nevesis is also arguing to remove 100% of the blame from Lundqvist. The bias is fairly transparent

Go watch the replay... tell me how much time Brass has. That is the right play every time no matter who takes that shot it is going in. Like I said it is pretty fundamental hockey... On a play like that you get it off your stick as quick as possible he had no choice but to take a one timer. Would you have rather him took his time and have it poked of his stick?

And when you're a pro you get it off the stick into the wide open net. he didn't even have to elevate it, just redirect it. he failed. He deserves blame. Absolving him of all blame is simply incorrect

Literally every breakaway against Henrik, I'm just waiting for the puck to go in the net. It used to be the opposite; always expecting Hank to make the save. Pretty disheartening considering he's in the first year of a monster contract. I'm watching Niemi make huge saves to keep his team in the game and feeling jealous. Our goalie used to do that, right?

PS: Richards is absolute trash, and needs to get off this team.

Like one sec before I read this post I talked to myself, Hank really is slower compare to a couple of years ago. Because he use to make a lot of breakaway saves which is a big problem with his game today.

We have two. Nash & St. Louis. Of course, once they step into NYC they forget how to score.

Nash is not an elite goal scorer.

St. Louis is an elite play maker who is having a top goal scoring year. He is not typically known for scoring 40-50 goals.

Nash has 41 goals in his 95 games with the Rangers. Most of those games he disappears.

Nash could be an elite goal scorer if he had this thing called consistency.

I'd love to have an Ovechkin, Perry, or Kessel on this team.

Heck, even an 11-12 Gaborik was good for 41 goals in 76 games.

It is pretty fundamental... go watch any sniper in the league. You think they are taking the time to pick a corner on a play like that... No their head is down and they getting it off their stick as quick as possible.

They're not looking at the net because they already know where it is and know where to place their shots... I guarantee you will NEVER see any good sniper shoot back into the goalie unless they wiff on the shot

Because, I repeat, did you even watch the goal? It was a high backhand underneath the crossbar. It doesn't matter who you have in net on a shot like that.

Yes. I did watch it.

Hank has been horrendous on breakaways this year. This is a point that most have acknowledged. He can no longer be relied on to bail the team out.

GWOW doesn't hate him. Not everyone who offers criticism hates him. Why do some people write, "Z0MG U MUST HATE HANK WTF" whenever someone writes some accurate constructive criticism? I've personally been critical of Hank's rebound control for years now.
