My favourite player, ol’ Boss; I grew up on that dynasty and that’s why I cheer for the Isles from up in Toronto. I’ve got other teams I cheer for (ironically, Boston is one and the Leafs are decidedly not), but the NYI’s always been my #1.

I remember ‘82 well. That PNE rink lighting made every uniform pop with colour. I thought VCR hung in the best it could, particularly on the scoreboard in the two Nassau games. It was an impossible task for them to win, but the scores never got embarrassing.
Same here, Bossy was and is my all-time fav and why I ended up an Isles fan way up here in Halifax back in the early 80s. I also like Boston (Bergeron and Marchand are amazing players), but not this year.

Congrats everyone!

Here's a little classic meme of mine to commemorate the occasion (if the Mods don't mind) :

Another incredible playoff victory! Keep the run going boys.

Trotz will find a spot for Wahlstrom (maybe for Leo lining up with Maty and Jordan would be sweet), b/c I agree Zajac stays in.

Pelech has been a beast all postseason - so happy for him.
Dobson is growing and getting some serious hockey lessons.

Nelson line was buzzing all night.
Pageau - can't say enough about this guy - his line doing some serious heavy lifting and I'm sure they'll be seeing a lot of the Kucherov line.

can't say enough about our Paisan - He is SO strong - like freakishly strong. Happy he potted another. Lou will resign him.

nice one boys! Let's GO ISLES

Happy for Trav and Greene as this may be their last shot at getting a CUP.

Palms has been very effective these playoffs.

It seems Lou's pickups at the deadline (the 2 Ex-Devils as he likes 'em) have made him look like a genius.

(btw, that hit on McAvoy by Palms was a bit iffy, to be kind. But it's not like Marchand and the Bruins haven't pulled some shady crap on their end)

One of the most energetic performances of the playoffs. Great win !
Didn’t see them getting past Pittsburg or Boston but they certainly have no Egos and play as a team. Nelson with great skill and seems to come up big in these games

It doesn't happen much - but I like reading positive posts from @Top Corner

Agreed, I was against the trade (preferred filip forsberg) but he has been stellar for us since the PO started.

Can Lou find the cap space to re-sign and keep him and Travis is the question, and how do we re-insert Wahlstrom and Lee into the lineup? Does Wahls replace Eberle on the 1st line? Lee will obviously replace Leo but where do you put him, as he is an effective, physical player? Lots of questions for the off-season, but am thrilled we got this far. Isles in 6.

Because he was available?

You can’t mention anyone else to my father besides Ovechkin. Says Bossy was the purest goal scorer he’s ever seen.

Bossy was the first islanders jersey I ever had. My first sports hero and my favorite islander ever!

My first girlfriend (Grade 7) told me we could kiss but nothing past that because she was saving herself for Mike Bossy.

It was called “The Pacific Coliseum” but the locals referred to it as the “Pacific Mausoleum”

Thank you all for being so welcoming and willing to discuss old times in light of tonight’s amazing accomplishment by your Team.

Edit: Just saw the impressive stat for Brock Nelson. That’s clutch

To beat Boston to advance to the 3rd round, much more satisfying than Philly.

Isles brought their A+ game, Bruins brought their A game, then gave up.

From the opening minutes, Brock had that extra gear. He has middle and high gear; you know what it looks like. There's an extra step in his speed; when you've seen Brock enough, you know.

Varly is not laterally quick enough for Kuch and Stamkos; that needs to be an adjustment. Tampa loves the cross-ice, pass-pretend shot.

Palms is playoff ready, as is McAvoy.

Pelech is a top-5 defensive D man.

No I kind of went from Lady Jane to baby Bergeron once Trotz became coach, but Trotz really has impacted Nelson and Pelech more than any of the players.

I always liked the Reverend - bring that back
