I'm glad you are that confident in Gorton. I'm not. We have no skater who is considered a top-5 or top-10 prospect in the NHL. Our best prospect will be replacing Lundqvist, who is already our best player. We need prospects who will be elite super stars, not more top-6 or top-9 forwards.
Gorton is a much better GM than Chiarelli. NY is a much more attractive destination for players than Edm. We already have much more roster and prospect depth than Edm despite the rebuild just beginning. What we don't have is a young franchise player. We have a very good shot to get that guy in the upcoming draft.

I'm under no illusion that we're going anywhere this year. In fact, losing to this garbage team will only help us in the lottery. That said, I can't believe there's not any more anger at the officiating in this game. 3 losses out of 4 by 1 goal (not including empty netters) and in all 3, a bad call or non-call or both led to the game-winning goal. **** these refs, **** this league. Officials are NOT above this sport. Worthless pieces of ****. Frankly, if I say what I really want to I'll get banned. But **** them.

Post truth era my friend.

Another coin in the Hughes piggy bank along with a ref's schlong down our throats. The losing is fine but the phallus I tell ya.

I understand this team lacks talent but they played hard and this game was anybody's game then officials decided to get involved. It's one thing if the other team beats but it's just maddening when an absolutely brutal call is the decising factor. This team is not good enough to play against another NHL team and the officials. The officiating this year has been brutal. Case closed.

Don't get me wrong, I wished them physical harm and lots of it, just saying...

Slats didn't need to do a smear campaign on him.

When he's acting so much like a bozo that Tanner Glass had to confront him because he was being an ass and *****ebag to the younger guys on the team, one can assume that he wasn't welcome in that room and would be toxic in the current situation.
Source?

That's beside the point. Without awful reffing, they're likely 1-1-3 at worst so far. Between the NHL and the NFL officiating has been absolutely disgusting.

It's not besides the point. It's literally the point.

Firstly, you're not Nostradamus, so it's very possible their record would be the same, if not similar, with better officiating.

Second, I just find complaints about officiating so pathetic. Players and fans who do so after a game is over just sound like they're making excuses and looking to place blame anywhere but on themselves or their team.

The Rangers are not good this year. I know it's hard to fathom since we've been contenders for nearly a decade, but it's the truth.

Losing is in our best interest. And they surely didn't deserve to win any games they've lost thus far, sans maybe Buffalo.

As for Chytl, I don't want to see him or any other of the young guys pushed and pulled between N.Y. and Hartford. So I would give him at least a dozen games here. Try him with some better wingers perhaps. But if at that point he still isn't worry of more than ten minutes per game I'd send him down.

Gorton should definitely start to throw picks and prospects around to get rid of Shattenkirk. He is heading into Beaver, Redden, Drury and co territory and he is heading there fast.

Its unbelievable that we can pick up someone like Namestnikov in a trade. Total air brain. Some flashy skills.

Is our pro-scouting department caught in some insane corsi scouting mode? A huge part of our roster is on the ice to boost trade value so that Gorton can get rid of his mistakes. We are heading into EDM territory, 1 PO in 11 seasons and no improvement in sight -- if our pro-scouting don't start to improve and that is fast.

Spooner is just not a NHL player. 4m for 2 years of him -- why? 4m and 2 years for Names? We didn't want to pay JT Miller, okiiiiii. This is one thing that annoys the heck out of me.

We should offload assests to move him while we rebuild with a slim cuppard?

Wtf

The Miller talk is curious to me. He was kind of known as being streaky and inconsistent here. Yet, we're lamenting his absence. Why would anyone be convinced that he wouldn't be playing poorly, like Zibanejad or Hayes or whoever else you want to say has sucked? You think that Miller, Mr. Mope, would be some kind of catalyst for this team?

Looking better and better.

But like, we will soon start to seriously mold these guys for the NHL. Imagine if we do get Hughes and Chytil grows some more and so forth -- we are going to play them IN THE NHL next season with Shattenkirk with another year under his belt, airbrain Namestnikov, Ryan Spooner, Smith, Staal and so forth? Makes you wanna puke.

I don't remember who posted it, but it was around the time that he was dealt that someone here that heard info third hand posted all about him doing awful things to the rookies and young guys on the 2016-17. Vesey was the main target. Same person also posted that Glass fought him and kicked his ass because he was so out of line. Can anyone else back me up on this? I understand it's off topic, but would appreciate.

Quinn needs to stop rotating his entire lineup. It's the same **** again. Coaches trying to be wizards and changing something every game. Why is a 7D still playing with our 1D? Why is DeAngelo, one of our best defenseman this season not even in the line up? He tripped himself with an unfortunate stick in the skate? Well, that's a benching while I ****ing throw the pairings into a blender and see what we get! Let's practice with some asinine pairings that aren't used in the game so I can confuse everybody with these pairings. The defensemen don't know who they're playing with, there's no communication, there's no synergy. It's madness. Staal is still in the lineup, Claesson is playing over Pionk or DeAngelo who can have a positive impact. If you're a coach trying to get wins on a weak team, you can't send out the safe options and hope for the best. A bunch of our most talented defensemen are just sitting while the tire fire between McQuaid and Staal just keeps burning. We get ripped by the refs time and time and time again in the most dramatic fashion and the coach just stands there looking like he's at an autograph signing for sick kids. There's no finish and it's not bad luck or lack of a bounce. It's a disease of the mind. A bunch of weak finishers that can't convert with a soft attitude around the puck.

It’s his first year as a NHL coach.

It would suck to miss out on Hughes, but Cozens or Dach would be pretty great, honestly.
Sure, but I'm still mad at the league for putting it in to placate Edmonton and potentially hurting a real market in the process.

If you're doing this bullshit, at least rig it for us. We make this league money hand over fist and I've been tortured for the better part of 25 years. You're f***ing right I'm entitled.
