We have nothing in common with the Oilers. Comparing their rebuild to ours doesn't make sense on any level.

I'm glad you are that confident in Gorton. I'm not. We have no skater who is considered a top-5 or top-10 prospect in the NHL. Our best prospect will be replacing Lundqvist, who is already our best player. We need prospects who will be elite super stars, not more top-6 or top-9 forwards.

I plan on eating pizza this evening despite today's loss...

Gorton should definitely start to throw picks and prospects around to get rid of Shattenkirk. He is heading into Beaver, Redden, Drury and co territory and he is heading there fast.

Its unbelievable that we can pick up someone like Namestnikov in a trade. Total air brain. Some flashy skills.

Is our pro-scouting department caught in some insane corsi scouting mode? A huge part of our roster is on the ice to boost trade value so that Gorton can get rid of his mistakes. We are heading into EDM territory, 1 PO in 11 seasons and no improvement in sight -- if our pro-scouting don't start to improve and that is fast.

Spooner is just not a NHL player. 4m for 2 years of him -- why? 4m and 2 years for Names? We didn't want to pay JT Miller, okiiiiii. This is one thing that annoys the heck out of me.
JT Miller was a huge issue in the locker room. You wouldn't want him in that room with a rebuilding, young squad. Trust me.

Hank with another strong game.

Hasn’t given up more than 2 goals in a game yet, has a .938 SV% but is only 1-3. The Rangers have only scored 6 goals total in his games, only 1 goal scored in each loss. Which includes losses against Buffalo and Edmonton, teams they should be scoring against.

The offense needs to improve.

No one thought anything of Miller being an issue until Slats threw him out the door and did his ol' take shit about players subtly after he trades him to further justify it though.

Everyone that's this angry already is in for a really tough year.

I'm just kind of bored with it. I knew we'd probably be terrible but hoped for some Cinderella shit. That isn't happening, so it's kinda like, meh, when does next season start?

Completely false for the 2019 draft

I said unless it's a strong draft...

Let's not forget that draft that had tons of stars and drafted the one player in the first round who didnt even become our best player. I'm skeptic of our drafting. Mcilrath was another blunder when guys like Fowler and Tarasenko were still available.

Apathy? What am I supposed to do? None of us in here have any power to change this. It's not like we can vote on refs.

You can stop watching, going to games, buying NHL products. That's literally the only way you can, by removing fans. Personally, I'm not going to do that, because the Rangers are a bad team. They can get every single call and still, it will not make them a playoff team.

That's beside the point. Without awful reffing, they're likely 1-1-3 at worst so far. Between the NHL and the NFL officiating has been absolutely disgusting.

Did we get 16 shots on net? This despite EDM playing a very poor hockey game. Our blueline was a complete nightmare, gave the forwards zero support. So slow. Its a modern game, Claesson isn't a good NHL D but he can skate and pass the puck. Smith wasn't very bad, but our blueline is so slow and heavy and has little skill.

I understand this team lacks talent but they played hard and this game was anybody's game then officials decided to get involved. It's one thing if the other team beats us but it's just maddening when an absolutely brutal call is the deciding factor. This team is not good enough to play against another NHL team and the officials. The officiating this year has been brutal. Case closed.

Did your cable go out in the third?

No, I just don't see the sense. Does anyone think this is a playoff team with refs that are more fair?

Complaining about officiating is just a smokescreen for the real issues with this team. Lack of finish. Horrendous defense. Deteriorating Shattenkirk. Poor lineup decisions. Lack of high end skill. I could go on, but all of these issues are of far more concern to me than some bad reffing.

I’ve been overall satisfied with most of the games so far this season. Were people actually expecting to make the playoffs?
No, I`m happy that Oilers won the game. What Rangers needs is top draft picks - so they need to move Spooner, Nam, Zucc and, Kevin Shatten for future.

Overall, I like the way Quinn has them playing, and he looks and sounds good in the interviews, but he has the most pathetic, sad, about to burst into tears look on his face while the Rangers get squatted over by the refs on a regular basis. Reach into your shorts and pull your balls out man. If he just keeps going out like a punk, I don't know what to say. Every time they show him I want to give him a back hand slap.

Slats didn't need to do a smear campaign on him.

When he's acting so much like a bozo that Tanner Glass had to confront him because he was being an ass and douchebag to the younger guys on the team, one can assume that he wasn't welcome in that room and would be toxic in the current situation.

Rangers couldn't connect the dots numerous times. Seemed like one of those games where they couldn't catch a break.

Officiating is usually not very good but 3rd period today was ugly bad. Between the non call on Hayes getting thrown down from behind to the Namestnikov hold which was really him being interfered with by Yamamoto to the phantom holding call (again on Yamamoto) on Staal. Can't say the refs took two points away but probably one as the game probably goes to overtime otherwise. How a team handles adversity comes into view and that second Staal penalty kind of put us back on our heels again so that picture got blurred a bit. Anyway the Rangers didn't rise enough to tie the game and.......

Great game by Henrik. Zbad was good today. I like the Zbad-Fast-Kreider line.

No but Quinn has had quite a bit of time to at least cement his roster in place and install a system.
There's zero reason for experiments after having a full TC and PS..
