He has been a complimentary player at every level he has played at for the last few years. So he isn't going to step into the NHL and become a line driver all of a sudden.

and LMAO premiere power forwards aren't the hardest to acquire stop fetishzing the play style.

Dynamic #1 centers and and defenceman are the hardest to acquire.

You're being incredibly shortsighted and dismissive of Brady's potential.

Not sure why you're laughing at the notion of the rarity of premiere power forwards. You do realize that Ottawa has had multiple dynamic centers and defenceman throughout the 25 year history of our franchise, yet we've never had a powerforward? We've never had the opportunity to get one because the few teams that have them don't give them up and you need to pay a heavy premium to acquire them if you don't draft them yourself. Oh, and we just acquired Matt Duchene earlier this year. Every year there is dynamic players available, premiere powerforwards are not readily available as that.

Tkachuk isn't a bad player by any stretch. I would be less upset if Zadina wasn't available. As it stands, I'm pretty furious. Not to mention Zadina is headed to Detroit.. damn!!!

For the Tkachuk lovers, what kind of a point gap does Zadina need for you to admit we grabbed the wrong guy?

10 points
20 points
30 points
30 or 40

think mark stone type impact. but a stronger maybe even smarter mark stone. stone does not get the most points in the league. and i don't care.

omg you are going to be so disappointed. Mark Stone is one of the smartest players you will ever see play.

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of hockey IQ

Lol nah bro. Stone is better. Tkachuk is a better playmaking Simmonds.
better agitator too.. Likely will be even stronger than Simmonds...
To me that is a top 5 talent. If he can be a 55-60 pt player consistently with the way he plays that's great. I think he has a pretty high floor and he will be that guy. I like Zadina's skill blueline in and his ability to beat goalies with his excellent shot , but I also question Zadina's speed . His quickness and agility are good, but his speed is not.

It is so pointless arguing this. like, we have to wait and see ok? He will be awesome. That I know for sure. how many points he will get each game and what he says during intermission interviews we can only guess.
Doubt he will put up with any organizational bullshit though. it's the one thing I could get worried about.

At what point gap do you admit the Sens made a mistake?

Zadina is as good or a better skater than Tkachuck. Tkachuk skating just looks more impressive to people because he is bigger.

Zadina absolutely blows him away in terms of agility and generating power from his turns. Both things that are extremely important in a players ability to produce offence. Zadinas top end speed is similar to that of Tkachuk, he's an average to above average skater and imo has a lot more room for improvement in that aspect.

Brady isn't some speed demon himself.

both would have been good picks. We went with the guy that is going to have a big on ice and off ice impact. He has the ability to change the culture unlike zadina.

The videos I've seen (that's all I've got to go on)...show some dangles that look like they won't fly at the NHL level. He's got hands, but they're slow and I doubt they translate to pro. I might nickname him Clunky Dangles. I worry whenever I see a guy get a lot of ugly goals, and that seems to be Brady. It was Lazar at the WJC and it was Chiasson in the year before we traded for him. Brady is obviously better than either of them, but I wonder if by enough.

Oh wow. I asked you before how many games you saw Brady play and you didn’t answer. Now I understand why.

as long as those two are here the culture in this organisation is going to be shit.
