His top end is good .. he needs to work on getting to it quicker.. I don't think its an issue at all. He is by no means slow
Ya it seems more like a bias assumption because of other factors around the pick. Sounds like there are parts of his game not to like, but speed didnt sound like one of them.

Brady will not only make his linemates better, but...he will make the whole damn team better. He will make the fans better. He will make ottawa area... better.
Not really joking either. The guy will make everything better. Just unbuckle and grab a soda.
Outside a minute ago. Saw a man walking his dog. Dog winked at me. That's when I noticed the Tkatchuk jersey he is wearing...

Best player available... Great pick
Will not be in top 10 players in 2028 re-draft.

Not even close to best player available, but certainly a low ceiling/high floor pick who will contribute as a complementary player.

Tkachuk has no issues with his skating. Speed and size are his best tools.

His smarts, shot and playmaking ability aren't an issue either (he's a very well-rounded player) but they aren't top 5 quality either, and that's what should scare people about this pick at 4th OVR.

He'll be a good player, but he doesn't have as high of an upside as some of the other players we passed on. That's what makes it a mistake.

I don't think he's top 5 talent but I also think there were only 2 players in this draft that are top 5 talent.

If there were any doubt, Dorion fully seems to want/expect Brady to be in Ottawa next year. Not sure how I feel about that myself.

Like I said. We are drafting Tkachuk. We are also signing EK July 1st.

why are people acting like this guys has the charisma of Julias Ceasar lmao

Not gonna lie I laughed hard lool

His style puts a smile on my face and easy to cheer for him. Ive said it before but looking forward to him smashing the smurfs and wrecking Mathews and Marner

Exactly. He will provide a dimension on our team we have been missing since... well since ever.

Fair enough on BT's speed. I'll admit that from what I've seen of him, he skates well for his size. I don't think he has elite skating in a vacuum, but then again neither does Zadina.

Anyway, as I said in an earlier post, as soon as we dropped out of the top 2 this draft ceased to be a possible cure for what ails us. At the end of the day we wind up with a nice player but not a new franchise guy, and now it'll likely be two years before we have the chance to get one. The feeling I'm left with is that we are completely lacking direction, but that's hardly on Brady. I'll cheer for him and I do think an injection of tenacity will do the team some good.

If he's pencilling Tkachuk into the lineup this early, that's incredibly stupid.

However if he's hoping that Tkachuk comes into camp and steals a spot, that's another thing.

I'm definitely of the belief that a player who couldn't hit double digits in goals in college as an 18YR old has a lot more to learn at that level.

For the Tkachuk lovers, what kind of a point gap does Zadina need for you to admit we grabbed the wrong guy?

Rather have Zadina who can actually accumulate as many points and make as big an impact as Marner.
