Right so if that is a tangible skill, how is it measured?
By winning???
Right so if that is a tangible skill, how is it measured?
By winning???
Could you point me to where someone said otherwise? ...I missed it.
Do you believe that Brady Tkachuk will routinely challenge for the Art Ross or Rocket Richard trophies? Do you believe that he's more likely to do so than Filip Zadina? I certainly do not, though surely Brady could excel in other areas and thereby become more valuable to his team. Trouble is, those things are nearly impossible to predict, where scoring touch is not. Most guys either have the skill to score in bunches or they do not.
True. Zadina is not without warts, otherwise he'd have been taken off the boards 1 or 2. He is IMO the best pure goal scorer of the draft though and shouldn't have been on the board at #6.Vanek never chased those trophies either and put up 40+ twice .. Its not like Zadina lit the Q on fire like its never been done, not even close. He'll be lucky to be similar to Vanek.. very good inside the blue line, very good on the PP. He has great edges , but lacks speed. He will need to correct the way he skates to change that.
Well what exactly has been the one thing this team has been terrible at for the past few seasons???We are always outshot, and outscored, wonder how we can change this??Winning what? Hearts and minds? He won the U18. That's nice but it's pretty disappointing for the USNDTP to not win that tournament in most years.
Tell us what exactly? That Zadina is a monumentally better goal scorer than Brady Tkachuk? We don't need time to tell us that, that's just a fact in the present.True. Zadina is not without warts, otherwise he'd have been taken off the boards 1 or 2. He is IMO the best pure goal scorer of the draft though and shouldn't have been on the board at #6.
Again, time will tell.
By not having a ton of big old and slow players up and down our line up who have few hockey skills. Putting more guys on the ice with speed and skill. Having a coach that values having the puck instead of handing it to the opposition so we can play more defense. Its not too complicated.Well what exactly has been the one thing this team has been terrible at for the past few seasons???We are always outshot, and outscored, wonder how we can change this??

Again, time will tell. If I'm a team that has trouble putting up goals and just lost a primary gun slinger(Hoffman), I'm taking the guy that's most NHL ready and has the elite shot.
Do you actually believe Zadina is a Hoffman style player? Because I'll tell you that is an awful comparison and you've obviously haven't watched him much. I think you can make a pretty good argument for Zadina being the better possession player too. He's better at almost everything. Well besides having a famous dad. Bradys got him beat there.Meh,give me the possession driving winger that will keep oppositions pinned in their zone while generating scoring chances for...Rather than another Hoffman style winger
Come on man, there's no reason to state the obvious. We all know anyone can bust, just as we all know elite shooters are rare.Hossa went 12th, Karlsson 15th , Havlat can't recall...there is no guarantee that your pick will pan out, even for the likes of Svech and Dahlin. Time will certainly tell. It's just a draft and many factors will go into the development of these prized possessions.
Personally, super happy we skipped on Zadina, but he may turn out to be better, but still too early to say. Clearly his comments following the draft perhaps opened a few eyes to how he may have interviewed.
Speed is nice ,but having players that actually use it and forecheck effectively is another...Skill are something all these top end players possess,BT included....Just because Brady,s defer over Zadina doesnt make him worth lessBy not having a ton of big old and slow players up and down our line up who have few hockey skills. Meh ,dont care but i wonder how much you overvalue junior numbers over other just as important skillsDi you actually believe Zadina is a Hoffman style player? And I wonder if you've actually seen any of these players play hockey games.Meh ,dont care but i wonder how much you overvalue junior numbers over other just as important skills
Really???last time i checked it a contact sport...Lets see how good he is when he gets crushed or bullied out of the slot by an actual defender...Scoring goals in junior is far far different than scoring them in the prosBrady is worth less IMO because he's not as good at ice hockey as Filip Zadina. It's really really not that complicated.
Not to mention the 2019 class. So many better players than Tkachuk.Brady is worth less IMO because he's not as good at ice hockey as Filip Zadina. It's really really not that complicated.
Pro hockey games??Because as of right now i can see BT as being far closer to this than ZadinaAnd I wonder if you've actually seen any of these players play hockey games.
Have you met Mr. Zadina?Do you actually believe Zadina is a Hoffman style player? Because I'll tell you that is an awful comparison and you've obviously haven't watched him much. Think I'm with FQL here...I don't think you've seen Zadina tape at all...he's not a soft perimeter sniper.Really???last time i checked it a contact sport...Lets see how good he is when he gets crushed or bullied out of the slot by an actual defender...Scoring goals in junior is far far different than scoring them in the pros
Oh so he is a hard one, that will be willing to grind it out to make something happen??Or take a punch in the face to establish position in front of the net???Think I'm with FQL here...I don't think you've seen Zadina tape at all...he's not a soft perimeter sniper.
According to Mike Morreale, Tkachuk will decide between returning to Boston or signing with the Senators by August 12th.
Yes actually. He didn't rack up 20 goals in international tournaments by being afraid to get his nose dirty. lolOh so he is a hard one, that will be willing to grind it out to make something happen??Or take a punch in the face to establish position in front of the net???
I'm not down on him(Brady) at all. I'm a little miffed at Dorion for not taking the BPA with a #4 overall. That's no reflection on BT.Dont know why people are so dont on him,yes yes Zadina is a nice prospect, but we needed mean, skilled and willing to drive the forwards to the net....And we drafted him
