If this kid keeps it going … we will have an insane D core . Hamilton Hughes Nemec Casey and sprinkle in some Defensive guys like Seigs and Marino . That’s without mentioning Bahl Okhotiuk Mukhamadoulin ……..We won’t have enough roster spots on the right side lol.

Good problem to have, can easily flip them for a legit winger when we need to

Hell ya . Young cost controlled RHD … Value would be insane. I’m gettig a tad ahead of myself here but if Casey does continue his play and development …. Honest question , where would he play when we have Hamilton Nemec Marino (Severson? Even more doubtful if Casey plays unreal all season)
plus Luke who has played on the right side for the past 2 1/2 seasons?
Worst case scenario, Luke plays LHD , But then we have one LHD spot left open with Bahl Okhotiuk Mukhamadoulin all fighting for that one spot.
Most guys seem like they are offence first (besides Seigs Bahl Okhotiuk) so the balance of the D will be interesting to see how they work it if all these kids pan out.

Shakir isn`t offensive D-man. He has some offensive abilities, you can call him some kind of two way, but definitely not offensive defenseman.

And I don`t see many problems with a lot of defensive defensemen. Like we saw, Shero`s idea doesn`t work, and if you have six defensmen who can help to play against, win board battles, can help with transition the puck from defensive zone - it could be quite enough. If you have a couple, who will make impact on blue line - great. But don`t spend your slot for meh defensemen. You will regret.

I agree with you and was trying to say that we almost need more defensive studs than offensive ones now . It would be nice to have one more guy like Seigenthaler . Maybe Bahl / Okhotiuk / Muk / Barabosha or someone else can be that

2G & A tonight. Maybe he is out to smash Luke Hughes's freshman year.
I think he could end up being the better PP QB.

Many had him ranked in early in the first round at the start of last year. I think he could be.
I had him 4th in my final rankings. Had Nemec 8th like a madman.

We got both though so it doesn't matter.

He would have gone a lot higher if Hutson wasn't hogging all the PP time last year. Stat watching scouts didn't like how his production plateaued, but anyone who was watching the games could see how he was the team's best defenseman.
