I had a nice long post written about Goodrow and this godforsaken website just refreshes and I lose it all.

Just wanted to say that Goodrow may not put up a ton of points but as he and the team starts to gel and build chemistry and hit their rhythms, I really think he's going to be important for us. Strong 3LW who can slide up and down the lineup and not look out of place, good on the boards and wins a lot of 50/50 battles and is another player (with Blais and Reaves) who effectively bodychecks - good timing, positioning and smart about it. He's one of those guys that won't be super noticeable but will do tons of dirty work. I didn't wanna give him the term we did but for what he is on the ice I feel like he's going to be a very important player for us in this upcoming contending window.

In good with giving him 10-15 games to adjust, the same I would for the team as a whole. I think it's around that mark you can start to confidently make changes.

No one has looked particularly strong in Hartford at this point, either.

when you look this overmatched I worry about the damage you’re doing to his overall game. Would it be best for him to get confortable in the A. Big difference playing in Europe and here. Feels rushed. And frankly Jones is more ready by far.

Reactions: THE BIG WHISTLE
Panarin looked like he really didn't care when he scored that goal. Or when he backchecked hard all game long.

Dude has had some shit turnovers no doubt, but this he resents Buch being traded nonsense is some of the most dumb drivel I've seen on here, and I say that I someone that doesn't have Bern on ignore

Panarin was trying to do way too much with the turnovers, but I thought he put his big boy pants on in crunch time. He will get it going, he’s too good not to.

Leafs board is going ga-ga over Shesty. Some are predicting Vezina for him, and complimenting him on his positioning to eat up pucks and not giving up rebounds. One guy said he was in god mode.

On the other hand, one guy still shitted on Fox, calling him overrated next to Makar
People who watch Fox on a random game won't understand what makes him so good because he's not Makar who is who they compare him to. Makar is bigger, is more physically gifted, is a very explosive skater and exceptionally skilled. Fox is very unassuming and small and doesn't wow you at all times. What makes him so great is how smart and deceptively skilled he is. He really is a player that you watch every night and marvel as his brilliance. Comparing him and Makar is dumb because their playing style is so different.

horrible puck management all night. fire drill in their own end, constantly panicking and tossing the puck around. painful to watch

e: I hate watching McKegg as well and Rooney as 3C is neutering anything else on that line offensively.

I know they're down two top six guys but ughhhh some of that shit is rough to watch

That was one of the best ot periods I’ve ever seen.

Igor was absurd tonight. Like legit f***ing absurd. Rebound control. No wasted movement. Calm and in control. He put on a goddamn clinic on the road in a tough building against some serious fire power. Best start of his career, no doubt.

Impressive game by Miller. That’s why you have to have patience. This team needed him to step up and he was assertive and decisive and used his body,

Good game from Trouba. Sold out his body many times.

McKegg is horrid.

I thought Kreider quietly had a very effective game. Made some real good decisions with the puck.

You saw the value of Goodrow in these types of tight, low scoring playoff style games. He doesn’t cheat and he doesn’t allow the opposition space or time to make a clean play.

Zib is feeling it.

Gutty f***ing win. Was a trainwreck at times, disjointed but they slowly found their footing. Huge for the confidence of this team early on. Really big, especially the second half of the game. You could see an identity forming with this team. Flashes of a Gallant team it and we saw it again tonight.

I said it during preseason Lindgren looks out of shape. Looks uncomfortable every night
Yeah he looks a step slow every night and like he's not sure what to do with the puck half the time. Calling cards of a player who is out of shape or nursing a minor injury.

For all the complaining the last week about Miller I think he's been far better than Lindgren. Lindgren has had a few giveaways each game that lead to prime scoring chances against and people just gloss over it and proceed to dump on Miller for one mistake that may or may not even have been his fault.

I think Lindgren will round into form but we need more from him. Thankfully we have Fox to float him along.
