Trade Skjei, Buchenvich, Kreider at the deadline. Fox looks good. Hajek should keep improving and carve out a 3rd pairing role. K'Andre and Nils both look great. Lindgren is serviceable for a while. Put Smith back on D, can't be worse than Skjei. Ride out Staal-Smith. Invest in gold. Lure some more college kids over the summer and draft high again with our best draft yet.

if it were up to me Andersson would move up to the 2nd line and Howden down to the fourth line.
Andersson may not be perfect or be the guy who's gonna dance through the opposing team and dish a perfect pass to Kakko for a tap in but he's far more effective on the forecheck and has been making far better decisions with the puck on his stick than Howden so far. In fact, he's managing to play with the puck on his stick a lot more than he did last season which one of my big criticisms...he's starting to make some plays with it rather than immediately swatting the puck someplace or trying to dish it immediately. He's holding onto it and making a few things happen even if it's just waiting to move the puck deep so a teammate can get it rather than immediately rimming it around the boards and hoping someone is there to pick it up.

Howden to the fourth line and told to just go crash and bang a bit and get his confidence up beacuse I saw a guy who didn't want to touch the puck tonight and didn't want to have to make a play with it.

Give it a look, if it doesn't work then mix things up again.

Step away from the ledge

4 games in and we looked like we havent played much. Imagine that

PP was ass. Cant throw pucks away like that

CK is a mess. He needs to come off the PP1

its not quinns fault he has to play marc staal But he does make some odd decisions.

Regroup and put forth a better effort against the caps

Take a deep breath

This bothered me so much. Why did they revert to this?

I'd add DeAngelo to the list of cannon fodder. He and Buchnevich are the bait to go out and get a center.

Kreider dealt for picks. Skjei dealt for a forward.

I still think something around Skjei and William Nylander makes a ton of sense for both teams.

lmao trading Nylander for a shit defenseman isn’t something Toronto should do

For sure.

and for as much crap as I give Kreider he's also having to play with a rookie and some mediocre centerice players right now. He needs to do more but he's also clearly adjusting to the linemates he has.

It feels like it's time to shake the lineup up even though it's only been 4 games, I guess it's just what these long layoffs do to your perspective. Realistically maybe play out this stretch of 3 games and then decide if that top line might need to be disbanded for now

Not enough improvement from guys we need to improve. I'm beginning to doubt Quinn as the developmental mastermind. I get that the coach can't just be everyone's buddy, but I've had it with the "being tough for the sake of being tough" act. Kakko has earned more time than he's getting. Andersson has earned more time than he's getting.

Brett Howden is not an NHL player. He's been beating us over the head with this fact for 12 months now. I'm not saying his career is over at 21, but sending him out to get body slammed can't be good for his development.

Marc Staal should not, in any way shape or form, be on my television. Full stop. Everyone on the coaching staff and in the front office should held accountable for it.

If I was Toronto I would play Rasmus Sandin over Skjei right now. Absolutely no chance Skjei is the primary piece in a Nylander deal. Skjei+Kravtsov+Lindgren? Maybe.
