Alright, listen. I'm not trying to create a narrative that isn't there but I can't stop asking myself this question, so I'll pose it to you guys:
Last year there were a lot of times where we hated the effort from our guys. We accused them of being listless and lifeless, but it was NEVER this bad. We thought Torts had lost the team, and we blamed his system and ever looming threats of benchings/being moved down the lineup for draining the life and enthusiasm out of the team. Not many were surprised when Torts was canned, and we later found out that the team had basically mutinied and gone behind Torts to try and get rid of him. So they GET their wish and now, in back to back games, in which they are averaging three goals against PER PERIOD, they are laying down like depressed, lifeless, heartless dogs. I don't get it. Does this not look like a team that has internal strife? Watching this team, I keep thinking that AV has been the coach for a long time and has lost the team and that this lifelessness is their response. Does it not look that way? I'm not saying that's what it is. I'm saying, I'm completely baffled and confused because of how it looks. This team looks like they all share the same mom, and they just found out she has a week to live. They look like they all just heard their dog died. Everyone of them just got dumped or is going through a divorce. I just don't get it. How can a team that BEGGED for a new coach and got exactly what they wanted TRY SO LITTLE? I'm at a loss.
From my understanding, the story that the player went behind his back to beg for him gone was a complete fabrication.
