Vancouver is just a jewel of a city. Absolute stunner of a place. Not sure what's going on with the fans there. Don't have any knowledge other than that unfortunate incident. From my experience it seems out of character.

Are they really off their collective rockers?

To be fair their outlook is bleak. Kesler wants out the twins are past prime, their farm sucks as well as their gm. I'd be miserable too.

Mint, I know you have a high opinion of this team, but if McDonagh misses one playoff series we're not winning more than 1 game in that playoff series.

tough to say as a stinger would hurt as much/more as a dislocated shoulder, but you can't say it wasn't just because he walked off fine. We've seen plenty of guys dislocate their shoulder over the years and barely flinch walking off only to miss 4-6 weeks. Hell gaborick had his whole season trashed by a similar looking hit against toronto in like the 3rd game of the season that one time.

Who knows, hope for the best.

The worst part is that if he is really hurt we won't know how bad it is. It'll be just "upper body injury"

Hopefully he doesn't miss any time but if he does:

Staal - Girardi
Diaz - Stralman
Moore/Falk - Klein

Could be worse.

I'd rather have McIlrath up than Moore or Falk. Can't be any worse defensively and he's a goon which is what we need.

The lack of retaliation embarrasses me. Might as well arrange a press conference and announce that players can cheap shot our star players without having to pay for it (other than a lousy 5 min major).
Im ashamed. Cillo wanted, but AV said no? Suddenly starting to miss Torts. At least he made the team protect their top players. I'd rather lose with pride than win in shame.

That incident ruined this whole game for me. Who cares about this game if McD is hurt anyway? Without him we wont win a single playoff-game.

This team goes through a hectic ****ing season, but persevere, they're now playing well and have a chance for home ice in the first round. One POS decides to ruin everything. If I said what I wanted to happen to him I'd get infracted and he's not worth it.

I think we can manage. Our defense has good depth now.

I wouldn't wan't to just "manage" against philly...I would rather our defence dominate the prime forwards. can't do that without MdDonagh...plus he's our most offensive dman by a wide margin over the others and we will need that.

Duguay said it on the post game.

There is a time and place for muscle and that was certainly a time to maul Burrows, I would have bit his nose off.

We needed him yesterday and the 1000 days before that.

Why take his word instead of the people what work with the team in close quarters regularly? I'll wait for the doctors and coach.

Oh god give me a ****ing break.

We win the game but because AV didn't let Carcillo fight Burrows (who I'm 99% sure wouldn't have done it), you miss Torts? God damn root for another team.

It still would have happened....but good God this team has no way to make anyone pay a price physically. I wish this kid was ready.

Trying to see any positives to this, and one is Staal-Girardi would be the pairing if McD is done for a while. Staal doesn't have McD's offensive game, but that pairing would be just as good defensively.

Trust me, you will and he's not but I'm telepathic and those are some horrific thoughts :D and I agree.

"I'd rather lose with pride than win with shame" if that doesn't describe the ridiculous macho attitude of hockey fans I don't know what does. Literally the worst part of being a hockey fan is the pervasive attitude that fighting is more important than the actual game.

Hopefully McD is good to go and its just a stinger. I've seen McD go down hard and seem like its gonna be long term, only to have him bounce back (hit from behind against Boston, goal against Washington? where he tweaked his knee and went down in a heap)
I will admit that I didn't like the way he get up, he kept his elbow rested on his knee when it looked like he was about to put his fist on the ground to lift up

There is no reason for burrows to do that with 40 seconds left in a two goal game.

What else would you expect when Van is down by two, desperately needs to score and Torts puts a guy on the ice who has 5 goals on the season? Torts obviously didn't put him out there to score.
