Post-Game Talk: 4/1: AV returns to Vancouver (McDonagh injury "not serious")

MCD got a stinger, he'll be fine.

Burrows should get a game at least for that crap, and someone on the Rangers needs to destroy him at that moment and we of course have NO ONE on the ice that can do it.
 
Too bad the refs didn't allow Zucc to mess up Burrows' face. I'm sure he'd do it.

I technically don't know if that's against the rules. But it was a cheap shot nonetheless. McDonagh was in a vulnerable position and that POS decided to run him in a game that was out of reach.

I think a game would be the max, it sucks that it happened, especially up two goals, with so little time left that the 5 minute pp does nothing to hurt the Nucks, but I'm not sure it deserves anything more than a game.
 
Vancouver is just a jewel of a city. Absolute stunner of a place. Not sure what's going on with the fans there. Don't have any knowledge other than that unfortunate incident. From my experience it seems out of character.

Are they really off their collective rockers?
 
Had it been with significant time left in the game, McDonagh might have been able to come back out, we don't know. People love to assume the worst around here.

Fanbases everywhere are pretty much the same. We had guys who had to tell everyone they hope Burrows dies of cancer. It's an HF thing, not a Canucks thing.

Posted this on the main boards re: Burrow hit (the Rangers fans bit was mostly directed at the morons wishing death on the player and his family):

Most Rangers fans in this thread are overreacting. The hit wasn't god awful. That said, it certainly wasn't totally kosher. Van fans are beyond hope if they don't see that Burrows gets his arms up -- his hands were in McDonagh's face when he makes contact. Not ok. That presumably didn't cause the injury (though we know next to nothing yet - for all we know McDonagh will be totally fine). Should be a game or two. With how Shanny doles out justice though, will be a fine at most.

Also want to say that it is pathetic that the only Ranger who really ends up doing the most to retaliate is Zucc. ****ing pathetic. G shoves a bit, and then backs down. Grow a god damn pair. And I'm not even a huge fan of teams employing goons for these type of situations. But you've got to have some reaction. Instead, nothing. As usual. Pathetic.

They can really use that as a silver lining while their ****** ass team is out of the playoffs and will likely be for the foreseeable future. :rant:
 
Anyone who has watched Burrows knows he is close to tears half the time due to how unfairly he is treated. His tirade years ago against that one ref just says it all. He pulled hair. He is what he is.
 
The worst part is that if he is really hurt we won't know how bad it is. It'll be just "upper body injury"

Hopefully he doesn't miss any time but if he does:

Staal - Girardi
Diaz - Stralman
Moore/Falk - Klein

Could be worse.
