You are having a great draft so far imo
Wanted Hrabal because Chicago doesn't have much hope on the goalie side, but I guess I'm getting all the forwards for now.

I used his combine generated weight at 190 but given his thick build, 200 should be attainable.Watch the tapes and you see a player overpowering defencemen as he drives towards the net. At six foot 200 pounds this kid already has NHL size and strength. More importantly, he plays big. He leans on players. With his combination of size, skating and skill, we would be foolish not to take him if he’s available at 5OA . A possibility that I fear may not occur as other teams have access to the same tapes that I’m watching.
Sorry about the late pick guys, I was pretty busy at work.
With the 36th pick, the Sharks are proud to select, from Hamilton Nick Lardis.
He may be really similar to Michkov in playstyle, but at this point he is an absolute BPA and there is no way we can pass this kind of talent. Lardis gives us another dynamic forward that can score at will and the speed he brings is invaluable.
@Estimated_Prophet is up, someone PM him im on his IL.
I’m still unsure of what to think about Strbak. Eye test is fine, but it hasn’t translated to production yet. With the 37th pick the Montreal Canadiens select, from Sioux Falls of the USHL, Defenceman Maxim Strbak..
5. Leo Carlsson (C) - Orebro HK (SHL)
31. Otto Stenberg (C) - Frolunda HC (SHL)
37. Maxim Strbak (RD) - Sioux Falls (USHL)
@Doublechin is up next

That's definitely valuable. Would fit great with Hutson, a la Ryan Chesley maybe? He won't be a producer at NHL level. You draft him because you think he'll be a shut down top 4D. He's good in transition and is a quality skater, but simply doesn't have great offensive awareness.
He'll play a heavy game & pk.
I mean can you believe that first pick. You are having a great draft so far imo
Chesley have more offensive upside then Strbak in my opinionThat's definitely valuable. Would fit great with Hutson, a la Ryan Chesley maybe?

Remember when Tinordi was top pairing shutdown material?Strbak is bigger and more physical & Chesley is a much better skater.
But, yeah, Strbak is someone who would pair well with Hutson, or even Guhle. Defensive defenseman are not the lugs they once were.

Which is surprising, same for a guy like McCarron, these are 2 players that I wrote off as absolute busts yet their size probably kept them employedI never saw that. He was so confused defensively I felt bad for the kid. I wanted him traded at 20. He was OK on the boards, but was just awful against the rush, like one of the worst I've ever seen in NHL. He looked like a deer caught in headlights. You could almost see the, "holy f***, what do I do?!!" on his face. He was terrible in zone coverage too. NHL players would go one-on-one with him, and he'd just freeze.
I was on board with it more when he was a junior, although not top pairing more 4-6, but as soon as I saw him play pro ...
He has made himself a small career as being the #7 on shit teams. Lol
Hefty price to pay for a non-physical Chiarot. Were basically buying back Chiarot and all the good Hughes did with that trade with him in the first 3 picks. He won't be a producer at NHL level. We made two atrocious mistakes in the development of McCarron (who I wasn't a big fan of anyway - not that my choice of Zykov would have been much better): sending him to the OHL rather than the NCAA, and telling him he was never going to be a skill player while he was on a heater in the AHL.Which is surprising, same for a guy like McCarron, these are 2 players that I wrote off as absolute busts yet their size probably kept them employed

Ill keep saying that Dvorak and Sotheran are much better value than Strbak
I could see Strbak becoming an Artem Zub type which would be more than welcome in our lineup. A lot of development to go for that though, of course.Hefty price to pay for a non-physical Chiarot. He's sitting comfy at 43 for me. Wouldn't hate him at 37, but there would definitely be prospects I'd prefer on the board.I like Strbak, but it's a question of what price you want to pay for him. Pretty soon all the explosive names will be off the board and he would likely be my pick.
