Yes, but Bedard doesn't play the so-called Power Forward Game that Leonard does.

Very on-brand for the Hurricanes.

I mean Leonard doesn’t only play the power forward game. He has a hell of a shot, has Byron type speed, and is able to make plays too.

It's simply more a part of his game than say it is of Smith or Perreault, so it definitely stands out. But, he's not Stramel who pretty much has to play the big, grind game to succeed.

Leonard is multidimensional.

Oh, I know, that's why I said "so-called." However, I would say he was doing a lot of that for his line on the Globetrotters, and I don't know how well that aspect of his game will translate to the NHL.

He can do that other stuff too. I think Byron might be overstating his skating a little. He doesn't have Oliver Moore mechanics or anything, he's just a (power)horse, but it can be great, just not elite I think. More Anderson than Byron.

Shot is also potentially elite, but we'll see. A lot of his other stuff is just average. Does that make him worth it over high IQ guys like Michkov or Benson?

Not sure. But I have my concerns. Still have him at 6 though, because I think he's a more complete package than Benson, for example, but I'd say they're virtually tied for me in that tier under the top 5.

Power forward or not, in the NHL, Bedard will be playing against defencemen who are generally 2 to 4 inches taller than him, outweigh him by 20 to 40 pounds and who can largely skate as well as or better than him. We’ll shortly see if he can create the time and space that will allow him to make the plays that have so many calling him a generational talent.

A ballsy shoot for the moon type pick at 34. Really rised in the ranks this year but still has a wide array of rankings from 26th to 72. Hoped he'd keep to the late 2nd round but guess not.

:thumbu:
All the guys I like where take right before me and like I said I didn’t have time to really see all the players that where available (like Sawchyn) so I went with a player I really like in the 2nd round

Bedard is a much better skater than most dman and is very strong for his size. He is a slam dunk to be a superstar......generational talent is very much up for debate.
