Exactly. And only in response to us. MDZ’s cross checks... Holzen... etc. Once we respond, instant 10 minute. ****ing ridiculous.
IMO the NHL is trying to keep games close for ratings. As I mentioned before, it’s already proven that this happens in the NBA. So it probably happens in the NHL.

I actually meant "indispensable" but your word indisposable works as well as either one describes what Lemieux means to us.
For anyone who thinks that Lemieux needs to dial down his style, I respectfully suggest that they look no further than Buffalo.

Their fan base would trade one of their good D-men yesterday (aside Dahlin of course) for him because that's EXACTLY what they (and several other teams on the verge of competing) are missing.

Just my 2 cents.

You can't just decide that anything is unsportsmanlike.

The rule refers to instigating an altercation. There wasn't an altercation.

I cant but the refs can and if Lemieux doesnt cut this crap out he will be getting a lot more of them.
I was loving Lemieux tonight until that stunt btw, was playing a perfect game.

I think the only thing is when you're up in a game you have to be careful to not get baited into penalties and fights and other garbage. You need to push back if the other team is gonna get dirty but you can't get suckered into stupid stuff. Lemieux sometimes seems to get suckered in

funny because buffalo drafted him lol

What? You don’t even know what your own point is. First you’re saying how we shouldn’t be complaining. Now you’re complaining about the refs. And I’m pissed that the whistle blew while Chytil was on a breakaway too. We kind of agree?

I didn’t mention Lemieux. I’m just annoyed at the sequence of events, even though it’s 4-1.

I know exactly what my point is. The moment the play ended, regardless of how the penalties shook out, posters were cheering on Lemieux. In reality, it was a stupid, selfish play (albeit highly entertaining), because it caused play to stop when Chytil was on a breakaway. I was commenting that posters here would be ripping Lemieux a new one if this was a close game, because we could have scored on the play. Did you accidentally quote the wrong poster?

The subsequent verdict by the officials was terrible (they’ve been horrible for about 10 games in a row now, this is par for the course), I agree. But my original point had nothing to do with whether or not Lemieux got a penalty. It was speaking purely to the point that he caused the play to stop at a bad time.

Hey you got two referees, although several years in the league, are not the most experienced or seasoned at their profession. Those types of refs hate players like Lemieux who play on the edge of their seat because it makes their job much, much more difficult.

Probably. And also parity. But they are destroying their own credibility at this point. If playing hockey gets penalized, then why bother?

Yes, we've already established that the officials are going to make up penalties for Lemieux because they don't like him and I'm going to continue complaining about it.

Someone needs to do something about this. I’m not sure who would need to go to who else but the Rangers are losing a player and that player is losing ice time routinely in big blocks for nonsense calls.

This is his second 10 minute misconduct in a handful of games for stuff that happens routinely with no calls at all and there have been plenty of minors for the same.

He takes penalties like anyone, sometimes a little more. But a lot of these things simply aren’t penalties and/or aren’t called against anyone else
