Kreider has been hot ass for most of the year, had nothing to do with being snakebitten.

Last 6-7 games have been much, much better.

I have 0 pause when it comes to moving him though.

Sure.

The issue, as always, is replacing forward depth.

Our forward corps are enough of a skeleton crew, without many prospects coming up. Subtract Strome, Kreider, McKegg, and potentially Fast and we're gonna have to be creative to fill out the forward roster next year.

Prospects...

Barron
Kravtsov

That's missing a lot of bodies. At some point in the rebuild we are going to have to start icing a forward lineup that has the depth of a cup contender. We've got a long way to go to make that happen. It's one of the reasons why a young NHL player is one of the things I want most in a return for Strome or Kreider.

Good point. They’re going to need replacements pretty soon for Kreider, McKegg, Haley, and mayyyyybe Buchnevich. Seems like they’re keeping Strome assuming he takes 4x4 or something like that. So I’d say four spots opening in the next few weeks to months is conservative. They must be biting their nails watching Kravtsov. And it makes Lias’ quitting all the more confusing. I guess they will look to bring back a Lemieux-type guy - at least in terms of readiness- as part of the Kreider return.
