Welp that was something alright. Good to see they finally scored goals but the D and G was B.A.D.

Someone compared Vesey to Higgins. I agree. He's going to score 20 goals a few times and maybe 30 somewhere else but to expect him to be a 50-60 point player is not realistic.

It's not Howden favored of Chytil. Chytil had the Too Many Men penalty and you gotta pay the price with PP minutes for that one. No favoritism. Also remember Howden is a full year older than Chytil so he has more man strength.

Is this tough love for Shattenkirk? Is he hurt? Is he in the doghouse? Remember Quinn benched him years ago in the AHL.

Zuccarello is having an awful start. I appreciate him for what he's done in his career, but he is easily the most overrated Ranger of the entire late Torts-AV era. He's a 55 point player because he disappears for games at a time. He gets treated like Adam Oates or Ron Francis by this fanbase which has always been infatuated with smaller guys showing heart, and picking a defenseman to hound. He's not elite, never was, and he's not going to suddenly go to Anaheim or Vegas and become a 70 point player.

I had high hopes for this team being like 2010-11 but I will say I was very wrong. This team may have more individual talent on paper, but that team at least had players who all fit a system and wasn't a collection of misfit toys, a goalie entering his prime, two elite shut down D, and two outstanding rookie D.

And I'm not getting on board the Hughes train. There is NO WAY the NHL is letting the Rangers get Hughes. None. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I know even if they finish with the worst record in the league, it's not happening. Best they can hope for is getting Kakko. I can easily see them ending up with #3 or #4 and everyone on here not seeing it coming. I'd rather have Kakko but I'll "settle" for Cozens, Newhook, or Turcotte.

Zucc was great for us for a while there. He wasn't an elite scorer because he had no shot but he had near elite passing. He would make Gretzky like passes almost regularly. I don't know what happened to him. He can't even make a simple pass anymore. He's not that old. It's as if he's disinterested because the team is going nowhere.

I f***ing hope we go 0-82. We absolutely NEED an elite player on this team to lead all our young talent that isn't here yet to multiple Stanley cups. And this is our biggest chance to get that guy and his name is Jack Hughes. Tank this season, it will be worth it. I will not hold it against the coach.

Bring on more 8-5 losses. That getting shutout by Buffalo crap isn't going to cut it. Tanking will be fun as long as there's some offense to watch.

Imagine coming away from this season with the 1OA, at least one more first (MZA) trade, and Chytil putting up close to a PPG.

Will do wonders for the future of this franchise.

Everyone complaining about Quinn should see what the Leafs did in their first season under Babcock - Stanley Cup and Olympic Gold Medal winning coach, commonly regarded as the best coach in the game...

Anyway, Leafs finished last.

A high pick + UFA this summer will go a long, long way towards never having to experience a season like this for a while. Embrace the pain, the team will be better for it.

Be happy you weren't hear for the 80s teams and the post SC crazy overpriced retirement home teams. Now those teams had no future, AND they sucked.

80s were such a weird time for this franchise. They had pretty good teams the early part of the decade and got close a few times (81 and 86). I learned about hockey then and became a fan the end of the decade. Espo years you could make a very good TV series about. What a mess.

I hated everything about the late 90s; movies were terrible, music was declining by like 97, clothes were dumb, and the Rangers were awful :(

Why is Chytil not on the PP, that is ridiculous this coach is losing me faster than Trottier.

He had to learn a lesson for the Too Many Men PP. He's not any different than any player on this team. It doesn't mean he's an awful human being or Quinn is going to talk to JG about shipping him out as part of a Panarin package (lol) but it's a learning moment.

Surprised we scored that many goals. Not surprised we lost. Would like to see more of this relentless in your face hockey Quinn keeps talking about. I know it’s only three games but a lot of guys look confused. Like they were just running around like their heads were cut off. The way up to the 20 game mark sure is going to be real interesting.

I don’t see why this is so surprising. I expect at least halfway through the season for a lot of these issues to be worked out with any success. This is an underwhelming roster.

I believe that Jeff Gorton should approach Marc Staal and his agent privately and ask Marc to waive his his NMC/NTC. If agreed and there are no interest from other clubs then send him to Hartford ala Wade Redden.
As a player/coach he could have a very positive influence on our developing defensemen.
The sweetener would be that when his contract runs its course he will always have a job with the organization.
If they do not waive then sit him every night.
Either way it will open a spot for one of our developing prospects.

Just having Andersson, Howden, Chytil and Kravtsov to go along with KAM, Hayek, Lindgren, Pionk, Shesterkin and Ronning along guys like Ziba, Butcher, Fast and Kreider makes for one f***ing hell of a great core and add Jack Hughes and trust me we will f***ing win the stanley cup. But we need that one elite player to connect all these pieces while most of these kids arent here yet and we get too good to tank. Do it now.

I think ultimately it is the coaches responsible for constant too many men on the ice.

Game is progressively getting faster by the year.
