this is what a rebuild looks like....from an outsiders perspective I think the Rangers invested too much on forwards and not enough on defense. Skjei is your only decent NHL dman...Miller has talent and upside but certainly not a sure thing...they need high end talent and not taking Bouchard/Dobson is going to haunt you for years.
Tell me about it.....oh wait, please don't remind me. The "obvious" isn't always obvious in Rangers drafting. They are always trying to be smarter than everyone else. Probably wouldn't have drafted McDavid.

@goawaystaal . Hey, I've seen enough negative posts about Zuccha......okay, maybe not bashing, but certainly negative and probably a little warranted. All I am stating is that it seems people are looking for a scapegoat? Trying to blame players for losing?
Zuccha probably knows he may be a goner, so maybe he isn't exactly going 110%. I probably wouldn't, would you? I dunno.

People have been much harsher on several guys. Look at what’s been said about our defense.

He’s probably been the biggest disappointment amongst the forwards so far, but Zibanejad has been right there with him (he’s received heat too.) there is no need to make excuses for him though. If he’s not 100% dialed in because of the situation or his future with the team, he shouldn’t be here to begin with.

I don’t see how anyone is being scapegoated though. Most of us know this team isn’t very good. That’s a collective thing and not something that can or should be pinned on one guy.

To say Zucc isn't putting in 100% effort is just not in his makeup as a player. IMO he's the kind of player that always demands himself to be better. He also doesn't strike me as a player who plays hockey for the financial benefits. He plays because he loves the game and to compete. Every player has bad games or bad years. Of all the players on the roster, Zucc has a certain consistency to his game. He's one of the few players that can take a bad pass. He also is a primary assist machine, which is why he is always near the top of the team in points. If he played with real talent, like on a Crosby-ish line he would make real good players, really great players.

the Rangers have acquired 6 Legit D Prospects in the last 7 months:

Miller
Lundkvist
Hajek
Lindgren
Rykov
Keane

DeAngelo and Pionk both look like they will stick in the NHL

Kravtsov over Dobson & Bouchard is a move I make 11/10 times

Not really. I don’t think he does.

at minn-duluth he showed a serious one timer and could really shoot it on the fly. his pp work was solid.

his shot isnt a problem at all, in fact, its a strength and compared to some of the "howitzers" we have on roster now, it looked even better. guys like staal, skjei, smith and ADA dont really bring much fire from the top of the pp point.
