Lemieux and Zibanejad are out for maintenance reasons. Some how Quinn put together combos that I like even less than what I thought he'd do.
I mean with this organization that means nothing, but I guess thats better than day to day?
The 1st goal, if we want to say the rebound was the issue, okay and I agree he should have just caught the puck and play ends there. Yet since he did not, the coverage coming back on Zajac was a water skier. He stopped two really good chances before the 2nd goal. On the 2nd goal I can't tell if the Smith shot deflected on the way in or not, if not, yes he should have absorbed/caught it, if deflected I am not sure that would be on him.
He should have caught the initial shot and stopped the Zajac shot, he lost his angle on that one.
Wait, the youngest team in the league that has had a two week camp and no exhibition games AND is learning a new defensive system looks disjointed on the ice at times? Shocker that.
And now Gorton has poorly constructed the team? We ALL know that this is FAR from a finished product. But tell me, where has the construction of the roster gone awry? What should been done?
There is ZERO evidence that the top 6 are being ground into dust. And who should Kakko and Lafreniere be playing more than? The kids get hooks for accountability reasons. As well they should. Who are the vets that are getting away with murder? You're not just going to list Johnson here, are you?
The team does not appear to be dysfunctional. At all. Stagnation is lack of progress. 3 games in. NO preseason. No exhibition games. And the whole team is not growing. Who is on a bad contract?
And what does it mean to have a directionless roster?
Who is clueless and who is a genius seems to vary from game to game.
THAT is your example of a franchise in dysfunction? Really?
What is the justification for JJ in over Smith? Is Quinn serious?
Sorry if you took it that way. Not my intent. What an awful, condescending, downright stupid response when I was trying to be pretty fair and reasonable while talking about concerns I had. I wasnt even f***ing rude to you. I acknowledged how young the team is and how covid f***ed up training camp MYSELF.
And then you sarcastically bring it up like Im an idiot who doesnt realize it?
Thanks for being a complete dick to me for no reason
I'm more underwhelmed than ever with Kakko given what I saw from Hughes. Hughes was a game breaker.
I hope Lafreniere or Kakko hit that level we saw from Hughes yesterday. Night and day from where he was last year.
Who do you propose they replace in the top-6?How are the younger kids going to develop if they're on the 3rd/4th line and not playing with linemates that complement their skills? The team is not ready to win yet, the playoffs are iffy at best, so the younger players should be playing in more important roles.

Lol Hughes had an easy tap in for a goal and was gift wrapped a breakaway.
Kakko's finished breakways too.
Game breaker my ass. He was opportunistic AF.
Sound like a homer to be honest. He was creating grade A chances on the ice every time he stepped on it, especially in the 2nd period.
If he played for any team other than the Devils, Islanders or Flyers I'm skeptic the criticism for him would be the same.
I'm trying to be as bias free as possible, he definitely impressed me. And I still haven't seen that level from Kakko, which I'm hoping he does.

Being told to relax is annoying and stupid

Johnson over Smith is the weirdest f***ing thing.
Does Johnson need to play a certain amount of games in order to be exposed, or something?
Everything else I can justify but this is an odd one.
Smith has been clearly better.
I do have an egoYou seem to be more concerned about your opinion being right than the Rangers.
Thats just not true. Hughes had almost twice that of the next persons time of possession, he was everywhere with the puckLol he didn't create shit outside of that. The best thing he did on his first goal was get tossed from the face off circle because he would have probably lost it.
I'll give him credit for finishing on the breakaway but some of you are acting like he controlled the game. He didn't.
