Keefe put Kerfoot out to take the draw in our zone after the time out. Seriously, he lost the draw and they scored. Our worst faceoff guys and he loses the draw 6 on 5 thats not smart coaching

I think Kerfoot was out there because they iced the puck the play before, wasn't Keefe's choice.

Exactly and the poor icings (think that was Hyman) are a common theme.

Stuff like that happens. Despite poor play, Tor gets a point and still is the best team north. They did not show in the third, period. Imo TOR needs a shutdown center to control that kind of crazy games.

Ugly, ugly losses like this are precisely the ones you remember when your team's sent packing at the end of the season, and you're looking for the early signs of trouble in the season.

I think there’s going to be many hot takes here where people complain that everyone’s overreacting to the last two losses.

But what I really think happened is that everyone overreacted to the teams hot start.

I think we may be back to seeing the “real” leafs. Hope I’m wrong.

I would guess it is somewhere in the middle.

They have shown they at least attempt to pay attention to details in their own end, but new habits are hard to form and there will be lapses of the old.

It's hard to say same old Leafs when really, there are 5 or 6 players left from the first Boston series.

Marner had a terrific scoring chance late in the game but he refused to shoot and once again skated himself in too close to the goalie and cut down his shooting angle. Passes into the goalies pads.

After watching this for 4 yrs you just have to assume he’s just not good enough to be able to shoot.

Andersen used to be an above average starting goalie that choked in big games. He hasn't been that in 2 years. Jack Campbell needs to play a lot when he gets back.

timeout when? they werent getting outplayed 5v5, ottawa wasnt coming at them in waves. i dont see what a timeout would have done. he said in the post game he gave them a talking to in the 2nd intermission. not the coaches fault at all imo, if i were to blame keefe for anything it would have been maybe to mix up the lines that clearly werent working.

1st 100% incredibly weak, breakaway from after penalty needs to be stopped, tieing goal where he couldn’t even locate it to name a few
Leafs keep waiting and waiting for him to put it together but enough

100% agree on the first one.

My point about putting owness on the skaters, how can you be giving up breakaways? Two of them... to this crap team? I feel if a skater doesn't score on a breakaway he has fcked up... maybe you see it the other way. The tieing goal, again guy in front of our net with time to make that play... that is not on Andersen. That was a bit of a fluky one.

Bottom line, the skaters effort was so poor that we even allowed those chance. Those plays should never be offered up regardless if the goalie stopped them or not. This team, to be taken for real has to lock games down when up like that... and we just floated around the ice like a bunch of losers.

Lets say Freddie makes a few of those saves? What then? We played a great game? We all know that is BS. I'd rather the players face the loss for their effort. Inexcusable effort imo.

You can say Andersen should have been better, and I will always say so should the skaters.

I think they had a tv timeout when it was 5-4. But I agree though, he's too nice sometimes. I don't know how he is the locker room or practice but on the bench he is too nice. The carrot is great but sometimes you need to use the stick. Haven't seen him use a stick yet, hasn't benched anyone, hasn't scratched players to send a message to them. We'll see how he handles this, because it ain't acceptable.
