My money is on us seeing two new faces on the blueline next year (ASP and one from outside of the organization). I am not sure what will happen with the forwards.
I'm going to love seeing this place blow up when we sign Chychrun...

I suspect one or both Fisher/Veleno are not back and we see Elmer up as the 13th forward or 3rd/4th LW with Danielson.

If going small on Line 2, maybe try Berggren-Kasper-Raymond and move Cat back up with Larks with MBN. Ray and JB were 2/3 of a killer line along with that Petteresson kid on the Canucks for Sweden in the Jrs a few years ago...I think those 3 will push one another to a higher level if given some time together.

If we can move Veleno and get something useful in return, I don't know how we justify bringing him back. At least Fischer is cheap. Motte is cheap. Veleno (and Ras) are paid to be more than that but they just aren't taking that next step. I was really hoping they'd bring a bit more this year.

Cap space not really an issue next year if they can't move Veleno this year, but I see certainly 1 of him or Fisher sure likely not back next season.

JV is a center, has some size and can skate, pretty sure the his hometown Habs will us something for him after the Free Agent frenzy, they should have some space next year and may be in need of cost effective mobile center.

If they can't dump him by the end of the summer, wait for the TDL in 2026 and try again and not bring Fisher back (need the roster spots).

They might be able to dump him this TDL, centers are always in demand, the extra year may not scare off contenders as the cap is expected to go up.

He's signed to play in Russia for at least 1 more year, and I think he'll do it. These guys rather play home and in the KHL making more money vs coming over and possibly being sent down to the AHL or ECHL.

Maybe switch that name with Lombardi.

I'm betting MBN also stays in Europe. He's not exactly lighting it up yet.

Sandin-Pellika/Cossa/Mazur/Danielson/Lombardi/(Red Savage) all have legitimate shots at making the team next year. (IMO).

Wallinder, for whatever reason isn't the player I see that other people see here, I legitimately don't think he's good. It's like the Soderblom effect. He's not good, hasn't been for a minute now, but everyone everywhere see's the potential. I'd package the two up right now and get ANYTHING I could of value. :naughty:

7 rookies would be wild.

I still like the idea of adding Rasmus Andersson. Unfortunately Calgary is playing well enough that they probably wouldn't move him right now.

I'd love to see us land a mid 20 something top 4 guy. I'd lean LD just because ASP is coming and I don't see the point of spending the assets for a guy to get replaced in a year or two. If we can land a top 4 LD, we potentially lock up our top 4 for the next 5-10 years and you can look to deal some of our surplus dman prospects to shore up other areas.

With that said I can't see the Wings having 7 rookies next year either. I think MBN and ASP both spend a majority of the year in GR. Danielson, Soderblom, Cossa probably make the jump. Cossa and Danielson because of need/readiness and Soderblom because he'll be out of waiver options. I'd be surprised if they at least don't give him a cup of coffee but could also see him get waived after 20ish games if he isn't breaking into the lineup. I could see Buch coming over but only if he gets a guaranteed NHL spot, I don't see him coming over to play in the AHL.

Hanas and Viro probably get waived. Wally and Ammo will also be pushing for spots but I think they likely loose out just based on Stevie not wanting a million rookies on the team at once. Ammo would need to beat out Danielson, but he is going to have to put up major points to overcome Danielson's two way game. Wally has a better shot if ASP gets a year in GR, but he's also up against it because we won't have any freebie bottom pairing spots available.

I feel like people keep putting on expectations of what Russians usually do onto buchnelikov but he’s done stuff that shows he’s trying to be proactive in getting over hear. He came over and worked out and talked with the staff about what he can do to get to Detroit and in the NHL faster. He will be here sooner than you think.

Also your attitude towards wallinder is pretty insane when he’s only gotten better every year, is getting points, and the organization love him and think he’s developing nicely. Just as you say people overrate him I think sometimes people get it in their head that players aren’t good and dog them for everything that other people don’t see. They nitpick and become haters. Think you’re kinda being a wallinder hater here.
