I like Buchelnikov next season in GR probably MBN also. You can't bring 6 Rockies in NHL . Choose 2 or 3 prospects between Danielson, Mazur, Lombardi, Soderblom, Cossa and ASP to play next season.
Yzerman keeps delaying stuff and this is what we get lol been warning about bringing rookies sooner since we had alot coming

Cant ever see buchelnikov playing in the AHL, its nhl or khl and if hes good enough to play I'd have 0 problem putting him in. Hes 22 and datsyuk and zetterberg never played in the ahl,not all our prospects need to show up at 23+

Think soderblom gets a look this season and we'll decide whether or not to turn the page on him. Danielson will 100% make it and it cossa continues to dominate he'll be in a tandem

After that if pellikka continues to dominate shl he'll be a redwing and we'll manage his ice time year one and make him a ppl specialist. Lombardi , again depends what he does all year if he continues what hes doing

Nygard will probably play one year in ahl to give him a ton of minutes unless he prefers shl but I think hes a year out. Mazur I think will be on but I'd be putting him in a package deal for someone good. Isnt he like 170? Hes too skinny to be a bottom 6 guy imo , what do I know

Pellikka cossa danielson mazur buchelnikov make the redwings next season imo. Id prob deal mazur and keep soderblom

I know this will piss ppl off and im fed up trust me I want cups but If the price to pay going with a younger roster and letting them gain experience( part of the rebuild is playing the players you draft) is getting a shot at a generational talent like gavin mckenna at the 2026 draft so be it

The Wings won't run DBC, Buch, Lombardi, Berg, and Ray as smaller top 6 kind of guys at once. Ray obviously has a spot long term, the guy is a star and I'd be very surprised if he didn't end up as PPG this year. He also doesn't play small like a lot of the others do.

Berg, Buch, Lombardi, and DBC are likely fighting for 2 spots over the next few years. I don't know if I see DBC being dealt as I could see Stevie just letting that contract run out and having Lombardi/Buch step into that role at that time. I don't see any of the small guys outside of Ray being equal or better than DBC before his contract runs out. Berg is the guy I think we ultimately see dealt unless whomever is coach after this year likes him more. I think there is a good chance that he is supplanted by a Buch or Ammo next year unless he and Kasper light it up in the 2nd half. Lalonde does not appear to favor him, although I think he's significantly improved his defensive game since last season.

As for Trouba I was very pro him in the off season because I thought he'd be a great temp partner for Ed for the next couple of seasons and lock down that #2 RD spot. He isn't Winnepeg Trouba anymore but I think he's still a decent top 4 especially when given a good partner like Ed. This was before the Walman deal though and we'd still have a huge LD gap next to Seider even if we dealt for Trouba. I DO NOT want to see a Seider/Chiarot or Trouba/Chiarot pairing. I feel better about getting Seider a LD partner and pairing Ed/ Petry or Ed/Chia together if we can only get 1 dman. Still would consider Trouba if we could say dump Copp and Holl to NYR, but I would not deal any significant assets for him.

Maybe we can move away from the standard "bottom 6 players must be talentless hacks" way of operating. With Larks, Kasper, and Danielson we have capable centers to allow smaller to average sized skill guys to operate.

I'm not sure why Rantanen would leave Colorado to come here now, but I'm hoping Kyle Connor is the next guy that wants to come home to MI after next season

Heres what to expect next season/deadline

Cossa will be the backup next season
Danielson will be in Detroit
ASP in GR
Mazur in GR
Soderblom in Detroit
Wallinder in GR
Lombardi in GR
MBN in the SHL
Buch in the KHL

Kasper-Larkin-Raymond
Debrincat-Danielson-UFA(ex: ehlers, boeser, roslovic)
Tank-Compher-Berggren
Soderblom -Copp- Ras

UFA(ex, ekblad, chychrun, pionk)-Seider
SE-Chariot
Holl-Gus
Johansson

Talbot
Cossa

I see us signing x2 decent UFAs but nobody terribly expensive, ie nothing over 8m$ (forget Marner and Rantanen). SY will want to see improvement next season...ie no more lottery pick range

Dealt at or before the 2025 deadline:
Petry for a 6th
Kane for a 3rd
Lyon for a 2nd
Motte for a 5th

We draft 6th or 7th OA in 2025

Veleno not resigned
Husso waived...unclaimed..GR starter
Wait out Copp, Tank and Husso contracts

He will be UFA this summer if he doesn't extend. Give him 12Mx 8. Get rid of Copp, Compher and Holl and our cap is the same hit... and roster spots open up.

If SY "could" get rid if those x3..he would..all 3 are bad contracts that we'll just have to wait out

MBN better not be in the SHL next season.

He will..plain and simple...

While bigger/stronger than ASP/Kasper (I get the position debate) he HAS to find more of his offensive game first before coming to NA...

X1 more year in the SHL, then GR in 26/27 then Detroit

Impossible. A personalized favorite.

Why?

f***ing.

Why Veleno not reassigned..?

We will need to create roster spots to both improve from within and outside organization, and he was clearly not part of the longterm plan given his x1 year deal at less then his previous...besides, his on ice play this year dosent warrant being resigned...

I doubt the Wings will give MBN the option again next year. I expect the Wings to assign him to the Griffs next year.
That was his choice to stay in Europe, now he goes Kasper and Edvinsson turms .
we have Lombardi, Mazur, Soderblom and Danielson waiting for their opportunity to play for a big team

ASP is different, he doesn't need to be in AHL, to talented
