I wouldn't have put money on Olivier emerging as the best Herder, but he has surpassed the whole Herd 2.0 group of Trenin, Sissons, and Jeannot now. Did not see that coming. Good for him!Great for him. Was a huge fan when he showed up here. Old school guy that clawed his way into a career. You can't hate on that.
I wouldn't have expected it either, but, well, it's happening - for my other team no less. His goal scoring has cooled off considerably in the last few weeks (hardly a surprise, we all saw that coming) but he's still been awesome. It's getting annoying every time another Trade Board type article comes out with his name prominently listed; everyone up here wants him extended ASAP.I wouldn't have put money on Olivier emerging as the best Herder, but he has surpassed the whole Herd 2.0 group of Trenin, Sissons, and Jeannot now. + Sherwood in Vancouver.Olivier: The Preds can't even pick the right 4th line grinders to keep anymore.
I think a big part of it is you just don't keep them. You bring in new guys who have to compete for a spot and who are out there fighting for a few more hundred thousand on next year's contract (or to get one at all)--they have so much more to lose than a guy locked down with a safe spot. And I say this generally being a fan/ok on Big Sexy, Sizzler, even Smith. I liked Sherwood's energy and pestiness though--would have rather kept him and given two kids top 6 spots than Stamkos/Marchy.Olivier: The Preds can't even pick the right 4th line grinders to keep anymore.
If ?Jatkola? Pans out….At least we turned Olivier into something. Mind boggling we got more for him than we did Fabbro.
Well.... his counting stats arent great in Liiga so im not holding my breathe on thisIf ?Jatkola? Pans out….
What about his Hits numbers? The only ones that really matter, after all.Well.... his counting stats arent great in Liiga so im not holding my breathe on this
Also not good. Not a single hit. Dude is slackinWhat about his Hits numbers? The only ones that really matter, after all.
He'll never make it to Milwaukee with the dream of the Nashville press box at that rate. Also not good. Not a single hit. Dude is slackin
Well, we have the cereal winners. Not really surprised. Duchene didn't get move due to production, so if you are Trotz you could care less.
I mean, he looks like he's not going to ever be a top six scorer, which is what we drafted him to be. I think he got a really raw deal here, but im also willing to concede that we didn't throw away some useful 20+ goal scorer. I think we all had hopes he would be a Craig Smith at a minimum, but I don't think that's ever going to happen. If him being gone is what has allowed L'Heureux or Svechkov to get their shot, Im ok with that.I see that Tomasino has 10pts in 22gms for the Pens, right around his career average of 0.45ppg. I'm starting to wonder if his scoreless 11 games with the Preds earlier in the season, when the whole team was struggling, maybe wasn't a large enough sample size or his fault.
Exactly. Fabbro is only move this season that was just dumb. All the others were I thought reasonable value for what we dealt. The Carrier trade, even though we gave up better player, that was guy overpaid and over slotted that we would have hoped for a 2nd or 3rd, which is likely what Montreal would have wanted for Barron. The Askarov deal too was strong value for him if you were going to deal him. The big picture is still in question, and whether Trotz has right vision or right mindset to realize it is also in doubt.I mean, he looks like he's not going to ever be a top six scorer, which is what we drafted him to be. Parsinnen is also zeros across for his last 8 games after getting 1g 1 an early in his time at Colorado. I think we may have to admit the only real bonehead move by Trotz was Fabbro
And that is the other issue I have with it, we can't play either of those guys but we don't mind playing everyone else's garbage half the time. That said, all of Tolvanen, Parssinen, and Tomasino are better than Hinostroza who currently rides shotgun on our 2nd line, right?
