Great for him. Was a huge fan when he showed up here. Old school guy that clawed his way into a career. You can't hate on that.

I wouldn't have put money on Olivier emerging as the best Herder, but he has surpassed the whole Herd 2.0 group of Trenin, Sissons, and Jeannot now. Did not see that coming. Good for him!

His goal scoring has cooled off considerably in the last few weeks (hardly a surprise, we all saw that coming) but he's still been awesome. It's getting annoying every time another Trade Board type article comes out with his name prominently listed; everyone up here wants him extended ASAP.

I think a big part of it is you just don't keep them. You bring in new guys who have to compete for a spot and who are out there fighting for a few more hundred thousand on next year's contract (or to get one at all)--they have so much more to lose than a guy locked down with a safe spot. And I say this generally being a fan/ok on Big Sexy, Sizzler, even Smith. I liked Sherwood's energy and pestiness though--would have rather kept him and given two kids top 6 spots than Stamkos/Marchy.

At least we turned Olivier into something. Mind boggling we got more for him than we did Fabbro.
