Oettinger can get hot at any moment. Add known Avs killers throughout the lineup and a coach that owns Bedner. Well, that's enough to spark fear in a potential matchup.

Now go get Kerfoot and Bjugstad Cmac!

Avs are 6-1 against Dallas the last two years since they hired DeBoer.

Head to head save % is .904 for the Avs and .905 for the Stars.

With the greatest respect, since you're a great poster, but that 'if they are healthy' thing doesn't mean much to me...first, nobody is healthy in the playoffs. Injuries should be expected. Second, the Avs need quality forward depth precisely to cushion for that. The possibility of losing a Nuke-type forward should not doom the Avs' cup run in the first run as it did last year -- not when the stakes are so high and the window is so small. Look at Tampa -- they made it to the freaking finals against us in 2022 with Point only playing 9 playoff games.

I am afraid I only read new posts and therefore shan't be responding :sarcasm:
It should mean everything, because as good as teams have to be you also need extreme luck with health. If you aren't healthy, chances are you aren't winning your matchup let alone the Stanley Cup. Tampa Bay making it to the Finals in 2022 largely without Point doesn't mean all the other cases of teams losing due to big time injuries being suffered gets thrown out the window.

It also wasn't just Nichushkin. Josh Manson wasn't healthy at all, and then they lose Cale Makar for a game.

Nothing went right for Colorado last season in the playoffs and it still went 7 (and the Avs dominated and should have won).

No health, no advancing.

Division rival gets little better on defense with Tanev. Time for CMac to counter and trade for..

This is worth firing LMAO

Yeah, it seems like NJ is throwing in the towel on this season. Wouldn't be shocked to see Toffoli and Nosek moved, maybe Miller and Smith, too.

Also think we see Ruff fired the day after the season ends.
CRAZY. Before the season New Jersey fans expected them to challenge for the CUP.. Out of playofffs now. Feels like the Avalanche with Roy vs Wild..

Because they retained? I think they have all of the Dougie Hamilton LTIR space to work with, so why not buy a draft pick if ownership is on board?

NJ missing the playoffs would be the biggest surprise this year.

I thought they were too unexperienced in the playoffs to win the cup but never thought they'd miss the playoffs.

They are adding salary without getting any player back all for a 4th round pick, plus rumours Toffoli could be on the move. Then there's the failed Markstrom trade

Seems like a team throwing in the towel.

You’re asking him to increase offensive impact when he plays with our only offense driving line ~20% of his ice time at 5v5. Defensively, he’s usually the one who has to break the cycle when they’re getting hemmed in cause lord knows JJ or RyJo ain’t beating anyone to the puck.

It’s no secret that the Avs lack offensive depth and have a huge need for a 2C. Those problems don’t (directly) affect the top guys, they affect everyone else.

Fitz should arguably be the first one out. His work in net should be fireable

I don't think the NJ retaining a little salary to get a 4th signifies anything about them throwing in the towel. They have too much cap space to use, so they get a free 4th.

Not saying they won't end up selling, but this doesn't indicate that.
