You have appointment viewing to get to. It's on HBO if you have it. Great show. I feel like you'd love it too.

Ahh, should probably start up HBO its been a while, I jump all over the place with this subscription death by 1000 cuts thing lol.

Yeah I'd agree with that.

I wanted Jenner, but he seems off the table. I'm ok with Henrique. I know he's not the hot chick everyone wants to dance with at prom, but you can still go all the way with him. :naughty:

Y'all really are chill with watching a contending year go up in smoke.

I really am going to have to see something like that work. It's an interesting gamble that these players can play the minutes in this system having been middle six players most of their career. We may bump our wingers up, but how many centers have we really done that with?

Kadri was so obviously buried alive in Toronto's center depth his play on the ice wasn't a question, it was getting him to stay calm and focused. Our captain and our coach are good at that when drugs are not involved at least.

I really find it amazing he still gets shit stirring at this point. I fell for it like a year ago now or some shit. No more lmao

Dude, as @Foppa2118 said, you've got some appointment television in your future.

Temper your expectations though. I found it to be a bit of a slow burn at times, but always extremely well written, acted, etc. Its basically just a gigantic window into the seedy underside of Baltimore and all its corruption. Cops, drug dealers, dock workers, mafia, politicians... hell even the school system is pretty much exposed to be corrupt.

Pretty uplifting stuff, really.

I've enjoyed Power, and a couple other shows like that recently, and it's rated higher I believe so I'm definitely curious.

Yeah it's always good to temper expectations. Even though I consider it one of the GOAT shows, if you say that, it tends to raise expectations too high.

It's a bit of a slow burn, but when you get into it, it's great. Some dips in the middle seasons, but they get back on track towards the end.

Writing and character development is among the best in TV history though for sure.

Interesting timing for Mikko Rantanens "the biggest secret" article (main headline on the website too):

Rantanen talks about MacKinnon and how he has team working with him, physical, recovery etc. He learned a lot from him.

Google translate the article(too tired now to translate more) if you want but I find the timing kinda funny because Mikko has been critized quite a bit lately, so bit of a "good press article". Hmm. Just odd timing.

Article mentions how he is easy to coach, humble etc. He is stretching a lot to prevent injuries.

I would trade Mikko + Byram for Pettey but I wouldn't add Ritchie for sure though.

If you are going to have cap issue for paying another star player 12M+ on this team I prefer that it is at 2C vs 1W. Keep Ritchie to replace Colton in a year or two when we need cap space.

I could also see a trade with BUF based on Mikko for Cozen/Mitts + BUF 2024 1st + another very good piece.

Ya I'm torn on that one. I think Rantanen + Ritchie makes more sense for both teams, as it gives Van a potential top 6C to replace some of what they lose in Petersson going forward.

Thing is, if we do trade Mikko I think it makes more sense to do it in what would be a cap-shedding move overall, like your Buffalo idea (I think i would prefer Cozens personally and would try to get someone like Kulich added). Like part of the reasoning to trade Rantanen at all is to reallocate cap space and not have 2 forwards earning 11M+.

You can acquire a competent 2C while keeping Mikko. Having a Petersson level C would be a luxury behind Mack, not a need, and it would create more cap issues in the short term IMO. Fun idea I just don't think it's realistic

I can see Vancouver going for the trade, but not until the off-season when Rantanen can re-sign.

Compher seems to be doing fine as a 2C in Detroit.

7 points in his last 10. Strong two way play. 34 points in 53 games. 53 point pace over 82 games.

He'd be 5th on our team in scoring right now. We should have never let him go.
That's the same shit he did last year, then ghosted us in the playoffs. Compher is not a playoff performer. That's why when we had a real 2C his minutes were cut drastically in the playoffs.

Compher is to 2C as Chris Dingman is to the HHOF.

They're both cup champions, Dingman twice over, but neither deserves to be included in the category listed.

You can tell that Finnish media doesn't watch the games. I read that article also and yesterday I read one where they blamed coaches for Mikko's play.

Sure, playing too much leads to mistakes and drop in the level of play but Mikko is simply put lazy and doesn't seem to put any effort at all. And that's on Mikko, not the coaches.

People worry about our cap situation right now. So we'd be trading our top line winger, a top 4 defensemen, and our best prospect and replacing them with a guy who would play behind Nathan MacKinnon for likely 11+M per season and still be in cap hell but now without Byram.
you can find cheap wingers than can likely produce with EP or MacK. Especially offensive guys you might be going from Rants putting up 90-100 to the new guy more like 75 points but there would be much better balance and less playing time for the big guys. Also, we have Girard that is better than Byram imo or can at least replace his 2nd pair LD spot.

You can tell Finnish media watches and understands games more than posters on this board.

Why you didn't bother to link that article(Yle) where they blame coaches?
Was it because there were actual facts backing that up?
Doesn't fit the "Rantanen is lazy" narrative here I assume😂

29 points in 70 playoff games. .41 PPG. His career average is .48 PPG.

Maybe he ghosted us in the playoffs because we were without Landeskog or Nichuskin and one of them would have been on his line instead of Matt Nieto?
