None of this matters if Makar doesn't significantly improve his play.
Avs portion starts at 9:35, but if you want to skip two minutes of nonsense go to 11:40.
Elliotte doubles down on Colorado's interest in Bjugstad and Kerfoot.
One more step to nihilismNone of this matters if Makar doesn't significantly improve his play.
I know it doesn't mean much.... But Vancouver fans, or some Vancouver fans at least, are warming up more and more to the idea of moving Pettersson and seemingly the possibility that he simply doesn't want to play in Vancouver is more of a possibility.
You almost dont want to commit to any high end 2C moves at the deadline right now if the possibility of EP not re-signing and pulling a Tkachuk this summer is legit.
I know it's a small sample but for those who wanted Lindholm he has now played 10 games with the Canucks. He has 4G 2A for 6 pts and +/- of -5. Two games he scored 2G in each which means he has only 2A in the other 8 games. He has been pointless in 6 games so far. They are 4-5-1 which include their current 4-game losing streak.
It is very possible we dodged a bullet.
she looks hardHe mentioned that they want term w/ a first rounder going out. What’s the contract on those guys because we already know net year a lot of decision will have to be nade
I'm going on vacation tonight so I'll be out of pocket for a week. They better not do something today, I have too much work to doToday's the day, I can feel it.
What if I’m not trying to be funny and really want those players on the Avs?This thing is getting to the point where it was funny a little bit, then it wasn't funny anymore, and now it's maybe funny again.
Good pointThe Lightning already have a Raddysh and and Perbix. What makes you believe that they're not just 2 steps ahead of us with regards to the plan you mentioned?
Obviously I was strickly talking about Lindholm there. In no way I was insinuating that we were better off with Ryjo than Lindholm. With that said looking at Lindholm season and especially his time with the Canucks right now I would prefer getting Henrique if we can't get a guy like Mitts, Nelson, Zegras, etc.And the Avs have Johansen. Jokes on them, right?
or if Landy and Nuke don't returnNone of this matters if Makar doesn't significantly improve his play.
Not sure about that, .6 pts/game is almost double anything RyJo has done this year. For reference RyJo has 4pts in his last 10. And the 10 before that was 3pts.I know it's a small sample but for those who wanted Lindholm he has now played 10 games with the Canucks. He has 4G 2A for 6 pts and +/- of -5. Never said we were better off with Ryjo. See my last post (2 posts above yours) for clarification. Not sure about that, .6 pts/game is almost double anything RyJo has done this year. For reference RyJo has 4pts in his last 10. And the 10 before that was 3pts.
So it makes sense to give up a first rounder and good prospect for a guy who still doesn’t move the needle? Just because he’s better than Johansen???Not sure about that, .6 pts/game is almost double anything RyJo has done this year. For reference RyJo has 4pts in his last 10. Lindholm would push the Avs to that top tier of the west. Not clearly ahead of anybody, but they could matchup well enough with nearly all the teams in the west. Probably have to get someone in net and some depth. So it makes sense to give up a first rounder and good prospect for a guy who still doesn’t move the needle? We've talked this thing to death, but I have no expectation that Landeskog will return. Or that if he does, he'll be close to the same player. It's my opinion that if he does come back, it'll be maybe for some playoff games this season, and then it'll be over.or if Landy and Nuke don't return
Yep. And Rantanen needs to flip a switch come playoff time. The effort level and defense need to improve a lot come playoff time.None of this matters if Makar doesn't significantly improve his play.
I think.Landy should wait.until.next.year but for the rest I totally agree. We've talked this thing to death, but I have no expectation that Landeskog will return. And no, I'm not an orthopedic knee surgeon, so please don't ask. Just a dude with an opinion, like everyone else.
But back to my original post, this fan base has been giving Johansen and Rantanen a pretty good heaping of crap for their lackluster play (and rightly so). But for some reason, Makar has been getting a pass. Makar has been generally lousy defensively all season long, and now he's just plain playing bad hockey. I don't expect players to play 82 great hockey games in a season, so it's not panic mode or anything. But if they somehow get Mittelstadt to play 2C - and Makar continues to play this way - the Avs are going to be first round fodder anyway.

Makar isn't getting a pass from.me., he's been awful. His defensive game is bad and is why Toews is stuck.to his hip. L8ke toy.day if he doesn't improve his play it doesn't matter anyway.
I'm also.not sold on Mitts really. I think.it would be more prudent to.just grab Henrique.
Henrique is likely to cost around a 1st. Maybe you slide by with 2nd and good prospect. Mitts (and Zegras) both represent a long term solution. The Avs should be working towards that.
