If the team continues down this funk they’ve been in, I fully expect CMac to use it as justification that this year just wasn’t their year…again
Chicken and the egg. Just like last year the top guys are waiting for some help. Can't say I condone the attitude, but I can also understand the frustration, especially given the minutes they are forced to play.

No excuses for Mikko though. Unless he flips a switch down the stretch/in the playoffs, we aren't going anywhere with his mindless hockey.

Can we as a collective fanbase have a no-confidence vote for CMac and somehow get the results to Sakic before the deadline? I’m quickly becoming less and less confident that MacSleeping is going to do anything with 14 days to go before the deadline.

Also, what is this nonsense that the front office doesn’t want to part with a 1st unless they get someone with term or control. These have been the going prices for any sort of meaningful deadline acquisition for decades and they think they can get by with trading lower picks for lesser talent or that if someone who fits their criteria becomes available that other teams won’t try to outbid or match them? It’s complete dilusion and fear of “losing trades”.

There are 2 Raddysh’s in the NHL. Is there a chance we can get one of them? Then I’m hoping when Tampa enters rebuild, we can get Perbix from them, and since Calgary is selling, we need to trade for Pospisil ASAP. Then to get the final pieces of the puzzle, bring in Protas and Poitras

I know it's a small sample but for those who wanted Lindholm he has now played 10 games with the Canucks. He has 4G 2A for 6 pts and +/- of -5. Two games he scored 2G in each which means he has only 2A in the other 8 games. He has been pointless in 6 games so far. They are 4-5-1 which include their current 4-game losing streak.

It is very possible we dodged a bullet.

I know it doesn't mean much.... But Vancouver fans, or some Vancouver fans at least, are warming up more and more to the idea of moving Pettersson and seemingly the possibility that he simply doesn't want to play in Vancouver is more of a possibility.

You almost dont want to commit to any high end 2C moves at the deadline right now if the possibility of EP not re-signing and pulling a Tkachuk this summer is legit.

The Lightning already have a Raddysh and a Perbix. What makes you believe that they're not just 2 steps ahead of us with regards to the plan you mentioned?

"Yeah we had a bunch of feelers out there, but unfortunately nothing came to fruition with the cost we were willing to pay. That said, we're thrilled to be adding Alex to our group and think he'll supply some much needed depth as we head into our playoff push."

This thing is getting to the point where it was funny a little bit, then it wasn't funny anymore, and now it's maybe funny again.

The good thing about the mainstream media is that they know absolutely nothing about the Avs. If anything at all happens, it’ll be a complete surprise to them. Avs are as tight lipped as any team in hockey when it comes to trade rumours, and 99% of the buzz is made up.

I’m going to vomit if the Avs keep Johansen. They can’t even get him on the ice in tight games.

So here's what we know. We're going to bring in Crosby, Barrie, and Fleury, and the boys are just going to coast to the Cup. :sarcasm:

Lucky for us, he never gets anything the Avs do right.

He goes off assumptions and "what they've done in the past" and it's ALL 100% based on his opinion - there is no insider information there.

Where were ANY of those guys when we actually traded for Manson?? It came out of nowhere and the same could be said for Lehkonen. Now after-the-fact, oh yeah it's easy to say "they've been after him for a long time" (especially when the acquiring team feeds you that information) and then it almost makes is seems like you knew the whole time, but they didn't. They are super full of shit.

The Avs are super secretive and just because they were extremely conservative last TDL, it doesn't mean that they will be again this year.

HFAvs did the best job predicting Lehkonen noting his analytics and that the Avs were scouting them a lot. Richard, for example, was one of them commenting on this.

Two weeks is still two weeks which is about the time when it usually starts. You can't force the other teams to make deals especially when they believe that the prices are just going to continue to rise as time goes on.

I really don't know why some of you seem to choose to believe that Sakic was in charge before and CMac was in the Ball arena basement crunching numbers and not involved in any of the decisions when that's been clearly proven false (Duchene trade) and now he's 100% in charge and Joe Sakic is on an island on a permanent vacation in Jamaica or something?

They are BOTH at the helm and they are both making the call on the TDL - just like last year.

As for the 2nd part- it's made-up nonsense from friedman. I mean, obviously if you're giving up premium assets for good players you'd prefer to keep the guy you traded for... that's just a given. When you watch that clip from last night, you know he's full of shit. He said they want guys with term - then mentioned Manson and quickly realized woops, he didn't have any when they traded for him and then suggested they 'knew' they could extend him. I don't think they knew... it just turned out that they did and it went down to the wire to get him signed too.

These goofs don't know shit about the Avs. Where was the speculation on Newhook when we traded him - apart from here? Where was all the rumblings about RyJo? Or Colton when we traded for them? Straight out of left field.

They don't know squat.

NYI keep losing maybe Nelson shakes loose
I really hope so. A coaching change is supposed to give your team a boost but they've been a .500 team with Roy so far. That's not going to get it done. I think there's a deal to be made there but who knows...

The Nuck suck. They lost to RyJo the other night. JFC!

If thats true, we have to get him, as a replacement of Landy or Nuke or both (and then get another cheaper winger). Lose one of the Ds not named Makar if needed.
