But it's so much easier to just yell "HANK SUCKS!!!" whenever the Rangers lose, or when they play Talbot. That's so much more simple.

It cuts both ways. It is also very easy - and just as lazy - to constantly absolve him of all responsibility and ignore that he doesn't always play at the level you want a goalie being paid $8.5 mil to be playing at. If we don't expect him to make the big and tough saves, then why are we paying him $8.5 mil? That SHOULD be the expectation. Not, oh, he's not a god so whatever if the tough ones get by him.

Yes, he's the best thing to happen to this franchise in a long time. Doesn't mean he doesn't need to be better and more consistent. Pointing that out also doesn't mean he is a bad goalie or that he is the sole reason for this team's struggles and ups and downs. The reality is in the middle ground.

I'm not really an advanced stats guy, but if you look at those of Glass and Moore, they're literally so much worse than everyone else on the team, it's a little scary.

To be fair, I'm not sure toffness counts towards these stats, so you may have a point.

He's following the same pattern this year as he has in previous years. Slow October/November. Then he becomes God in January. I'm not worried.

And by the way Staal and Girardi have been horrible together getting torched by top lines
