Check out our prospects now and 2-3 years ago. Bravo JG bravo. Keep the pipeline stocked and let the kids develop in a positive culture

Things were looking soooo bad after Pittsburgh blew our doors off in the 2016 playoffs. We had an aging core locked into bad contracts, and the worst prospect/u25 core in the league. And it was obvious whatever magic AV had the two years prior was gone. It has been a remarkable turn around in such a short time.

And all this without a top 5 pick in over 20 years.

*And Tampa still owes us another pick.

Gorton has been great, almost perfect beside the Staal trade, not firing AV after he blew the Ottawa series and the Lindblom pick.

Filli Filli!

Its not just this game. They are 9-1-1 in last 11. Enjoy it.
I am dude, i really am. But like i said, i am sincerely worried and simply don't trust this org. to make the trades they need to when the deadline comes. No turning back. ADD a 2nd wave. This is why i believe it is IMPERATIVE they do this soon.....wins are coming fast and furious.

That happens when a player refuses to dump the puck. Reminds me of Kuznetsov's article on the player's tribune to be truthful.
It’s what happens when you’re 19, got away with it at the ahl level, he’s quickly figuring out what he needs to do against nhl defensemen. He’s managing his entires much better than at the start of th season and he’ll only get better.

Yes I consider to vote Hayes as well - he had a fantastic game.
I thought Brady Skjei was better with a shot from the blueline, but I expect more from him after he signed that contract - no time to relax so early in his career.

Pionk was also very good with a PP goal as well.
Kevin Shattenkirk best game of the season for sure - his defense effort was very good, and he had 2 assist with some other good feeds that Vesey did not get control of the puck.
Strome with 1 assist, but still a quiet game from him learning the new system.
I hope Howden & Lias get more ice time I thought both were very good as well with good looks.

Yes. That, and his lack of strength are the two biggest things that he needs to improve on.

Has nothing to do with dumping the puck, he just loses the puck. He's easily knocked off of it and he has not been good protecting it and/or stick handling. Even when we have the zone, he flubs it.

Another reason he's not ready for center

Kreider is showing the aspects of his game that people have been expecting for years.

We got to the point where it was said that 30-35 goals wasn’t a fair expectation for him and I think he’s showing that it really wasn’t out of line.

Kreider is showing just how dangerous of a player he can be if all the pieces come together and a coach finds a way to get the most out of him.

When he was a prospect, we talked about how dangerous he could be if things fell into place. Well, this is the result. He’s dangerous.

I think what has also happened is that he’s become the team leader. I said it after the last game, but one of the underrated aspects of the trades last year was moving out the old leadership and allowing the new to emerge. And Kreider appears to be at the forefront of that emergence.

Kreider scored so I can use this:

You should use this all the time, regardless of the situation.

Dude has a high probability to be a wing in the NHL. And we need to stop looking at that like it’s a failure or insult.

We can’t view wings the way relief pitchers were viewed in MLB — as failed starters.

He will not be a center for another 2-3 years ( if ever ). I don't see anything wrong with it and it's why I'm partial in keep Hayes around.

It’s a key reason why I was not keen on the idea of bringing guys back after we moved them. The emergence of a new identity was just as important as the infusion of new talent. You can’t really do that by going back to the same guys.

I think Kreider is probably in an ideal role right now — he can be A leader, without having to be THE leader. I think that role will probably remain the most comfortable, even as the team moves forward.

I think we’re seeing the new captain emerge naturally before our eyes. Another aspect of building this team well managed by Quinn.
