Some mouthy ass 5’2” female Kings fans just told me to shut my mouth as we were walking out and I was talking to my mother about how the Kings are at best 1st round fodder.

Never change, low class fans. Never change.
I've been to hundreds of games and the only time I've ever gotten into a yelling match with somebody was a Kings game lol

Final Shots report from Natural Stat Trick

We won the shooting metric between all three facets (Corsi, Fenwick, standard), but ran into a hotter goalie than ours. I wasn't expecting to win, but I do like how we played in this game even when the Kings clogged up the neutral zone throughout the game. We should earn more points playing this way. We should earn more points if we can also find a more competent PP coach. After today, our PP Eff stands at 14.9%. We are getting worse on the PP.

The Kings have stifled many teams to scoring 2 or fewer goals this season. There is no shame in seeing the Kings hold us to 1 goal, like they did in the first meeting.

  • Kings opponents (before today's game)
    • Scoring 0 goals against = 1 time
      Record: 1-0-0 (2 pts)
    • Scoring 1 goal against = 8 times
      Record: 7-1-0 (14 pts)
    • Scoring 2 goals against = 4 times
      Record: 3-0-1 (6 points)
    • Total = 13 times the Kings have prevented opposing team from scoring 2 or fewer goals.

We have had a difficult time scoring 3 or more goals all season. Here is our chart (before today's game against the Kings):

First meeting with the Kings on Oct 20th.
  • Score: Kings 4, Ducks 1
  • SOG: Kings 36, Ducks 14
  • PP: Kings 0/2, Ducks 0/3

2nd meeting with the Kings on Nov 29th.
  • Score: Kings 2, Ducks 1
  • SOG: Kings 18, Ducks 31
  • PP: Kings 0/2, Ducks 0/3
That is a significant turnaround between the two team over a month apart in games. We lost this game due to two mistakes and great goal tending: Zegras missed pass in the neutral zone that lead to a 2v1 snipe and Gudas getting beat by his man to the loose puck in front of the net. Still, we do see significant progress here.

Next step is improving our PP.

The Kings are known for a low scoring game. They made us play their game and their goalie had a great game. That toe save on Terry was amazing! Hot goalie > finishers. WE should know since we've stolen lots of games b/c of great goal tending. Conversely, why didn't you say, "This team needs a better goaltending!"?

Our problem was making mistakes against this veteran team. We could have won 1-0 if we didn't make mistakes. We could have earned a point if we didn't make a 2nd mistake. If our PP has a better design, then we might have scored another goal. We had trouble getting into the zone on the PP, which reduces our chances of actually increasing our chances of "finishing".

It's a 2-1 loss to a team that clogs up the neutral zone, especially with a lead, to make us tired before going into the Ozone. That's part of the Kings game plan in reducing goals against chances.

This was a good game even though we lost. We had our chances, but their goalie was on it today.
We had a ton of chances. That wasn’t the problem. We missed nets. We didn’t bury. We lack finish.

That toe save on Terry was more Terry than anything. All he had to do was hold onto it for half a second longer and he has an open net. The goalie was completely beaten.

What a frustrating game. We have a few players that make the team look decent and whole lot of players that cant handle a puck or make a pass.

I think Vatrano sucks at everything except scoring goals and this season he sucks at scoring goals. The team would be better off without him on the ice.

The McTavish hate is getting to be a lot. He’s super young and I didn’t find him bad at all this game. I think he’s moving faster but he still needs to catch up to the game speed a bit upstairs. He’s a gamer. Not the type of kid you worry about. If he wasn’t trying then I’d be worried.

I agree with this for the most part, only that he needs to start trending the right way asap. He and gudas by far are the ducks 2 most disappointing players. I would’ve never imagined that ever being the case this season. It’s what makes this season extra frustrating. Zelwegger and heleson each have really surprised me. I would’ve guessed that helesson was our new Perrault, never given a chance with us and traded. I’m shocked he was called up at all. I guess that means lunea hasn’t showed much down with the gulls ?

Vatrano, Gudas, and Killorn all suck, the vets you need to step up look like garbage, slightly less so for Killorn. I’m used to putting Strome in that category but he has been making some good plays lately. The kids can’t do much when the so called leaders are letting them down.
