Brunet might be good. But why hang onto him if your top 4 dmen are all under 30 all under long term deals. You dont need d prospects if your whole dcore is young good and under contract for manageable numbers
For peeke? Why would we move so much for peeke. Who is peeke ? Seems like mids. I’m shocked at some of the proposals. I can’t wait to watch gryz hold the cup above his head.

Ya but it won’t even be that high up in the air because he’s short. Is that really what you want?

What targets do you think they should look into come deadline day?
They needed an upgrade over Clifton at 3RD last year, and low an behold they should probably get an upgrade over Clifton at 3RD as well.

1) Another Left handed Center whose good at faceoffs/PK and can give them a super 4th line and fill in on 3rd line and give them Face Offs options, Freddy is a lefty but I dont know how often they like him taking important Face Offs.
2) a Dman that plays both sides but isn't as inconsistent as Zboril, or a straight upgrade over Clifton at 3RD.
3) a better bottom six right wing, preferably an actual righty who can fill in higher in the line up. a More Craig Smithy Craig Smith if you will.

1 is required to win, 2 would go a long way to help us win, 3 would be icing on the cake.

how Do u figure Toronto has more tradable assets? Care to elaborate?

Sure. To the untrained eye, it seems as if Knies would surpass anything we could offer in terms of a prospect (including Lysell or Lohrei). I believe there would also be a mutiny if the Bruins beat the Leafs to a trade asset in a big area of need - apparently Rielly continues to be a defensive liability since his return.
Chychrun would be regarded as a 1a or 1b in Toronto, whereas I think he would fall below McAvoy, Lindholm (and possibly Carlo in terms of defensive utility) in Boston.

Same, i want the bruins to win the cup too. I dont think brunet is “so much.” Hes a 5th round pick from last draft having a productive year in the Q. Lots of players have productive years in the Q.

Id move harrison too, this is the perfect opportunity to pump and dump on him. Hes hyper productive with shane wright and not so much without. Classic case of guy who isnt as good as his numbers because hes playing with an elite level line mate. The chris kunitz effect.

Harrison was 16-17-33 in 27 games before he was traded. He’s been 10-8-18 in 15 games since (not all with Wright). Virtually identical production.

Our in house insider is Raving about brunet and following him closely. He isn’t claiming he is the next Orr. But he is high on him. :p

It doesn’t matter where you’re drafted. It’s all about final result. Sweeney may have come out of that draft with some players. Also I’m not against moving any prospects. Just not for peeke.

Peeke for a 6th round pick. Final answer.

Do you even look this stuff up before you post? All you did was read one little excerpt in the prospect thread and immediately made up your mind he's only productive when playing with a top 5 pick.

Yeah pretty much. But i dont really value prospects much especially if there are any potential red flags. Any red flags if they net you out an nhler i take the opportunity to do so. So that little nugget was enough for me to want to sell high

Well he hits and blocks shots. But there just no way I move gryz and brunet for him.

A 6th isnt a real offer for a bottom pairing dman in his early 20s who hits and blocks shots. And as i said, prospects to me are chips to move if they get you nhl players. Not to keep.

Carter having a terrible year so far. Looks like father time has caught up to him.
Heard the same thing about pavelski when i wanted him 3 years ago and everyone told me he was too old then and that they didnt want him despite the fact i kept saying that he was good. Jeff carter is also good. Age is just a number. He comes to boston he makes a big impact come playoff time

I have nothing against age I mean look at Bergy and Kreech and if their going to help you win the cup, bring them in, but have you see Carter play this year he's not even close to the player he was a year ago. I feel there's a lot better options out there than a fading Jeff Carter imo. Pavs was coming of a 38 goal season, so I think a lot of teams were willing to take the risk Dallas was just willing to do 3 years so that helped seal the deal for them, hell Carter hasn't even reached the 20 goal mark in his last 6 years and counting. Big pass for me.

A big upgrade at 4C - maybe Toews, maybe O’Reilly, Barbashev at worst. Perhaps someone off the radar so far. Another third/fourth liner if they have experience and are UFA. Like a David Perron if he didn’t have the contract.

And a depth D better than Zboril/Stralman. I could be talked into a higher end D and putting Forbort at 7. We’re going to need 8D if we go deep.
Is Stralman even still with the team? I was OK with the signing but after watching him play a couple games early on he looked like he was playing with beer league intensity. Don't want to see him on the ice in the playoffs.

Would like to see Zboril get a few more reps in, although yeah, playoffs could be rough if he has to see action there

Is Zboril supposed to be depth on the left side or right? I know he's a LD but we have:
Lindholm
Gryz
Forbort
Reilly

The only one I see being traded is Reilly so I guess I understand him being the 4LD in that case, or is he insurance for the right side and we're looking to acquire a rental LD for playoffs and get rid of Reilly?

McAvoy
Carlo
Clifton
Zboril?

Probably a little of both.

The problem for Z is the defense has been playing very well and it's hard for a guy stuck in " on the cusp " status like Zboril to get games in unless there's an injury. Zboril has shown flashes when he plays but between his own injuries and having better players, he never gets consistent ice time for long stretches. Unfortunately for Zboril, I think this will always be the case for him here in Boston. For his own career arc, I think it would be better for him to request a trade.

I don’t know about your beer league but mine is way too intense. The scouts are watching us after all :sarcasm::laugh:

I may be in the minority, but I am not interested in the remnants of the Hawks dynasty. Like, at all. Just don't want them here. I'm not saying it wouldn't work out, I just don't really like them for this team.

Would rather get someone hungry for their first Cup. Someone looking to make their name as a Bruin. It would be one thing if the Bruins had no prior Cup winners in house, but they do.

I mean you also have to earn consistent ice time. Zboril played in 13 of the Bruins first 20 games this year and didn't impress enough to push for more regular time. I'd agree though that a change of scenary could be best for Zboril. He's played in 1 game since Thanksgiving and played less than 7 minutes.

its easy to say get someone hungry for their first cup as most of the NHL fits that bill. Someone looking to make their name as a Bruin though? What guy is already in the NHL thinking "man I really want to make a name for myself as a Boston Bruin".....likely none.
