Heres my trade proposals:

Boston gets
Andrew peeke

Columbus gets
Matt grzcelyk
Frederic brunet

Boston gets bigger younger cheaper under longer deal on back end.

Columbus gets a vet and a prospect having a good year. (Boston saves close to 3M On cap for this year). Columbus does this trade because it gives them a replacement level player to peeke in grzcelyk with a long term more team controlled dman with high upside in brunet who will be a pro as grizz contract runs out.

Boston gets more size for a tough playoff series and a potential shut down pair with forbort or carlo. Also a long term bottom 4 lhd who can kill penalties and provide some offense as well.

Trade 2:
Boston gets jakub chychrun

Arizona gets
1st
Lohrei
C. Smith
Zboril

Boston solidifies itself as best d core for long and short term as the c depth long term is looking modest they decide to go all in this year and adopt the “center poor, d strong” approach that worked for nashville a decade ago as a long term plan. Trades a first a upside d in vaakananiens mold in zboril, the big lohrei dman who you dont need with 3 dmen now signed long term from the left side and all resignable.

Trade 3

Boston gets pat kane (50% retained)
2nd

Chi gets jake debrusk
2nd

Pick swaps benefit boston as debrusks contract situation is better than kanes and chicago can grow with him on the wing as he fits the age to be apart of their long term plan. Also brings some playoff experience for what will be a young team once toews and kane leave.

Boston now a juggernaut for this season and defense is locked in for the next half decade.
Patrick Kanes best days are gone to be enough factor to offset his total lack of help away from the puck.I know your thinking offense but Bruins fans would go nuts with this guy in very short time.Jake is just coming into his own as a seasoned pro and can fly plus he is young.Sorry hard pass here on #3 because that is the exact opposite of what Bruins should be looking for.

Your 2nd idea will cost more cause that Bruins 1st is last pick others can do better.Just my humble opinion here been wrong b4.

Trade Gryz for Looch. Cap almost fits perfectly. He fights hits skates and can score goals with Krejci. Get it done. Wont cost much more than gryz. Maybe Gryz and a third?

I think people are underrating the pick swap of 2nds. That puts boston near the top.

Id give more happily on deal 2. What they want? Lauko? Beecher? Merkulov?

Columbus isn’t gonna trade Peake, that trade package doesn’t get you anywhere close to Chychrun, and swapping Debrusk and Kane makes us worse.

Lame. I think peeke isnt untouchable. Weird player to be untouchable. Toss in lysell if need be, just make sure to sign pastrnak long term first. Does that get boston closer?

If Bruins are involved it's costing Lohrei no matter what else is in there. One thing I learned is 99% of time a team trades away a key D man they get back a young one as part of that deal.I can't see Bruins paying it all honestly but we shall see.

You think lohrei will be better than chychrun is?

Ive seen his highlights he looks like dougie hamilton. Maybe not quite the point producer but he plays tougher. Skakes exactly like him particularly in the offensive zone. I still rather chychrun though. Particularly because i think hamilton is lohreis ceiling and i like chychrun more than hamilton.

I think Coyotes will ask him to be included

Hey stats nerds, what do we think of Nick Seeler from Flyers?

Dirt cheap. Signed through 2024. Adequate size. Blocks shots. Hits. His numbers this season appear to look very good for a defensive defenseman.

On the other side of the ledger, nearly zero pedigree and the shitty Flyers don't use him much on PK. Another left shot as well.

Depth target or statistical mirage?

I think boston should say no prolemo to that ask. Id be more leery of including a player from forward than d in a deal for chychrun. Boston needs no more d if they have mcavoy chychrun and lindholm for the next 7 years

I don't see Boston meeting the ask based off fact other teams can offer more with better picks.Bruins would need to go above & beyond.Just my 2 cents

The CBJ trade is terrible with a capital T. Peeke is decent but nothing special. Gryz is better by himself. Giving up Brunet is just... something you don't do. It is not based on much, but I have a very, very good feeling about this kid. I will say he profiles better than any non-first round defenseman who has ever played for the Bruins. With apologies to our current GM, and Mike Oconnell (third round Hawks), I get the feeling Brunet will have a pretty high ceiling.

The cap gymnastics that people are assuming, better yet, not assuming are going on in the background is hilarious. "If we trade for player X, we're going to have to trade players A-B-C in the offseason and if Pasta comes in here and if Bergy resigns and Krejci retires..........

This is the Junior B hockey league in Canada...........this is a billion dollar business these guys are running.
1. I'd say they have Pasta's deal close, if not, done already.
2. I think they know if Bergy and Krejci are coming back
3. I think they have a general idea what Sway and Frederic are going to cost in the offseason.

Now are there different scenarios based on ability to trade certain players now vs the offseason? Yes, but these aren't wholesale changes such as " we'll have to trade Carlo and Debrusk if we do this". That aint happening. That's the insane NHL23 be a GM Mode that some like to throw out here.

If pasta isn’t signed soon get both Kane and toews, pay whatever you need to for get another team to take another 25 pct off. You have to be ALL in at that point

If Pastrnak isn’t signed by trade deadline I would go all in on Chychrun
