2 years ago 13 gp 10g 11a 21 points . That actually is incredible. 24 goals last year. For a guy who hits, fights these are fantastic stats

A 13 game sample size out of 102 total is not anything I’m going to drool over. Pastrnak is at 1.4 PPG at the NHL level this season. That’s over 51 games.

Jeannot would be great but f*** giving up a 1st. It’s not worth the discussion. Why does NSH even move him?

This team is too good to be taking flyers on anyone. Sweeney's targets should be proven players who can contribute in the role they're being pegged for. If not then pass. Puljujarvi is not that guy.

Is it taking a flyer if the player’s defensive and transition game is elite?

If we can get Puljujarvi for cheap that is a move we absolutely need to make. In his current form we have another guy who just freaking dominates possession. If he hits his ceiling we have a 6’4 210 pound winger who plays an elite two way game. At his worst he is who he is now, which is a 20-30 point defensively elite forward.

Without a 2nd round pick for the next two years, I don't think it would be wise for Sweeney to trade off a 1st round pick. The Bruins need some young talent. You can't do deals like John Michael Liles for a 3rd and a 5th round pick, Lee Stempniak for a 2nd and 4th rd pick, or giving away 1st round picks to get rid of bad contracts. It catches up to you in the long run. Sweeney doesn't have much currency to trade away. He might need to resort to moving some of his Providence talent with the exception of Lysell.

I look at it the other way. If Sweeney doesn’t use his first to go get an impact player it would be GM malpractice. Just have to pick the right guy and not Ben Chiarot.

Fourth seems like the right number.

he may be a better offensive player. Certainly a better creator, but he is Charmin soft, and barely participates in his own zone

This could be more of a team oriented result but Horvat is on the ice for way more goals against at 5v5.

Barzal actually blocks more shots 5v5 as well.

Horvat has killed some penalties though unlike Barzal.

I like Sam Lafferty and definitely think Chicago could move him.

He can play center and wing. He’s signed for next year as well at only 1.15. For anyone in the Acciari crowd, he’s cut from a similar cloth. He’s above average at the dot, physical, good on the PK.

I think what separates him though is his speed. The guy can fly out there, which I think we need more of in the bottom six.

We need to be careful with any additions who have average to below average speed (Toews?) These teams like Toronto and Carolina are flying out there and we have to match it IMO
I am with you. Lafferty is a very speedy checking center with a little grit. Pittsburgh made a mistake trading him.

Question for the people better with the cap then me. So I know Lettieri getting hurt means we can’t send him back down to providence, which makes it so we don’t have the cap space to activate Debrusk off LTIR, otherwise we would’ve done it already and we’d be accruing cap space rn.

So what do we do if we get to next Saturday and we still can’t send Lettieri down? And if it’s as simple as waiving Smith again or something like that, why haven’t we already done it so we can activate Jake and accrue cap over the break?

Lysell is the Providence talent and if the deal improves the teams chances to win a cup this year he should be moved as well. The first, Lysell,Lohrei, whatever it takes to improve the teams chances for a cup now. A physical top 4 D with size and a third liner with size and grit. I put them as favorites against anybody.

Chychrun was my guy in that 2016 draft. Crazy to think that the Bruins could end up with Chychrun and McAvoy.

If you can get Chrychrun and Crouse from Arizona and make it work cap wise I dont care what you give up in picks and prospects to make it happen.
I wonder what it would cost. I don’t think Crouse is going any where. But chychurn is definitely on the table. I wonder how they make the cap work.

Good news - Pagnotta is a legit insider

Bad news- agree with Wally its speculation, not a bona fide insider scope ( at least not yet)

Still - it is interesting and adds weight to the school of thought that DS will be going big
