Wow if Horvat signed for less than Barzal, that amazes me, as Horvat is a much better player

I’m going to have to disagree with you on that. Horvat is having a career year. Barzal has been much better over his career and is younger.

Wouldn't mind them giving Puljujarvi a shot. Maybe Craig Smith plus a pick. Change of scenery trade.
What happened to Smith? If he was his normal 15-15 min self that'd be awesome

But if that’s what you use Smith for, then your big impact trade is Pool Party. Is that what the team really needs?
Well, with that sweet nickname alone..yes the team needs him!
But I do think this team needs a steady 3RW. Pool Party COULD be that, but hasn't really been yet. So maybe it's getting too cute. But probably way cheaper than other options an he's an RFA.

Kind of reminds me of DeBrusk. Last year played he played alot with 1st line (McDavid/Hyman) and had a good year. Now he's stuck on 3rd line(Foegle/McCloud) and isn't doing well. He needs to play with good people. I'd be curious how Hall-Coyle-Pool Pahty would do

I'll be shocked if Sweeney throws out another huge banger of a trade like last year

This team is too good to be taking flyers on anyone. Sweeney's targets should be proven players who can contribute in the role they're being pegged for. If not then pass. Puljujarvi is not that guy.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

His point total in the AHL is not anything to write home about in the slightest. Incredible would be an acronym to describe it. He has 52P/107GP; 0.49 PPG.
2 years ago 13 gp 10g 11a 21 points . That actually is incredible. 24 goals last year. For a guy who hits, fights these are fantastic stats

I like Sam Lafferty and definitely think Chicago could move him.

He can play center and wing. He’s signed for next year as well at only 1.15. For anyone in the Acciari crowd, he’s cut from a similar cloth. He’s above average at the dot, physical, good on the PK.

I think what separates him though is his speed. The guy can fly out there, which I think we need more of in the bottom six.

We need to be careful with any additions who have average to below average speed (Toews?) These teams like Toronto and Carolina are flying out there and we have to match it IMO
