This is Pittsburgh, strange things happen often, ERod fell off a cliff for the last 20 games.

How about this, though? Marino for Miller (50%), Bjork (50%) OR Ruotsalainen (both older players that would cost the same as an ELC) and one of the Vegas or Florida 1sts (whichever is better) OR Johnson.

Or the pick, Johnson and the same conditions on Bjork or R2 for Marino and Angello?

And the point remains, they're better than guys who have been here in those years since.

You know, the point of offers is to convince the other side to say yes, and not give them reasons why they should say no.

I get the small sample size, but I'm already ready to declare Bryson as a viable top 4 option on the right side. His quick feet make up for so much of the challenges of playing on your off-hand side.

Deciding whether I like Bryson with Samuelsson or Dahlin better is probably going to become my next obsession. For the next step when Joker comes back, they'll have to see how he looks with Samuelsson in a defensive deployment. But if the youth continues to progress (that's a big if), the current pieces may be a viable defensive starting point:

that’s a relative measure…ie grass isn’t greener across the street,

hocky stats are based on team you are on and who you play with and do you fit the system used.

Hockey stats have not advanced as much as some on here think. It is a team sport and a players stats are a direct function of who they play with and how they are used.

Ruhwedel would likely not have npbern better in buffalo.

He's played pretty well in Rochester of late, but they have a lot of injuries and are singing guys from Cin and the street in front of him. I think the Sabres keep him there until the trade deadline if not past it if they do not move Anderson unless they play well consistently.

Based on the xGF%, it looks like we should declare whoever is on the right side of Samuelsson is top 4

Two #1 centers for basically an entire second line (fringe 1st line) plus a #4/5 D, plus a 3C. Is that it? I'm ignoring the spare change, any 2nd or 3rds.

Did you miss when he was up here earlier in the season? Had he stayed healthy, there's a VERY good chance he still has a stranglehold on the starting job....or at the very least he's the 1B to Anderson's 1A.

That was just a placeholder. I REALLY like him, but I'm not a scout, I'll be fine with a lot of guys there.

A lot of people are looking for our long term Hecht and he's a candidate for that role who I like.

I understand, it's just that in theory, Vegas might not make the playoffs, and then their pick could be very good. There will be a big difference between a guy like Jack Hughes and players from #10 to #20.

I actually have Jack right in that range. I'd take him in the 10-15 range.

I'd probably have taken him as a mid-2nd rounder. Not even close to the same player imo (which isn't worth much).
