We actually already have one top 4 RD that could be a good mentor for Power, just re-sign him. But we also need a top 4 RD to play with Dahlin. Jokiharju remains a weird guy.
Dahlin - xxxx
Power - Pysyk
Samuelsson/Bryson - Joki/Fitz

1st + Lysellwhat's the ask on a guy like pysyk? 3rd rounder or mid-range prospect? he'd be a nice add to
our 3rd pairing (but bruins have bigger holes to worry about even before that)
Looking at the top of the NHL standings and the common denominator among the D corps of the league's top teams is that they all tend to have at least one elite D-man. They don't necessarily have an elite top pairing though or a balance of 3 right shot players and 3 left shot players on their pairings. The key for us is going to be the continued development of Dahlin and the arrival of Power. If those two players turn into the players they are projected to be, that will make up for short-comings on our right side.
Also, it always seems a bit weird to me that, in general terms, we simultaneously think a player like Miller is bad while hoping/thinking he can return a 2nd or maybe even a 1st from a team that has hopes of winning the Cup. If Miller is bad or below average then why are good teams looking to obtain him to help with a Cup run? It's similar to Montour who, again generally, Sabres fans could not wait to dump and yet he is good enough to play for a team that is a leading cup contender.
Montour plays #5 D in Florida, he can definitely be good in that role. 1st for Miller seems like a pipe dream, especially when he's still injured. 2nd would make sense. Miller was solid offensively this season and has playoff experience.Looking at the top of the NHL standings and the common denominator among the D corps of the league's top teams is that they all tend to have at least one elite D-man. Pesce would be a great guy for this though I doubt Carolina would want to move himMontour plays #5 D in Florida, he can definitely be good in that role. 1st for Miller seems like a pipe dream, especially when he's still injured. 2nd would make sense. We absolutely need to find a good and responsible RD to play Dahlin, preferably with 20+ minutes of NHL experience.
Makar has Toews
Ekblad has Weegar
Reilly has Brodie
Fox has Lindgren
Drysdale has Lindholm
Hamilton and now DeAngelo have Slavin
Manson would be the ticket, but he will not come here and they probably won't spend either. We absolutely need to find a good and responsible RD to play Dahlin, preferably with 20+ minutes of NHL experience.
Yeap, Carolina would hardly have moved Pesce.Pesce would be a great guy for this though I doubt Carolina would want to move him

Connor Murphy
Matt Roy
Jamie Oleksiak - I know he plays RD but I don't know how good he is there but he used to be very decent defensively.
John Marino - he probably won't be available.
Ryan Ellis - maybe not quite what you need, but this guy definitely has experience playing in the first pair and his defense has not been bad before.
Adam Larsson
Damon Severson
David Savard - I wonder if he finally fell off the cliff or he has an unsuccessful time.
I know, but his defense is not his best side.Jeff Petry will be available.
I agree, he keeps getting better and he has a fatal shot. It's Overreaction Saturday and the giraffe just scored a hatty, so how about some hot takes. I'll go first:
Tage is a 1C and will make us forget about that other tall center that once played for us.

I think I’m only half serious when I ask this. Vegas says to you Eichel for Thompson straight up, yes or no, do you do it? Again, I think I’m half kidding
100% no... Tage wants to be a Sabre.I think I’m only half serious when I ask this. Vegas says to you Eichel for Thompson straight up, yes or no, do you do it? Again, I think I’m half kidding
Who woulda thunk that Skinny/Tage/Okie would be three of our best forwards this season.
As someone said in the injury thread, injuries have cost us as much as 20 points. I dont know if I'd go that far...but injuries, icing Hayden/Eakin/Bjork every game, and another year of goaltender chaos...those three things combined have kept us from being on the playoff bubble.

On a scale of 1-10, how angry would everyone be if we went into Oct with Joker, Pysyk and Fitzy on the right side?
Depends on how these players will look in the remaining games of this season. Pysyk plays like a solid RD of the second pair and the metrics confirm this.On a scale of 1-10, how angry would everyone be if we went into Oct with Joker, Pysyk and Fitzy on the right side?
