Why not try to play Dahlin with Bryson or Fitzgerald, this season it makes sense to experiment, especially when Joki doesn't look very good in the first pair.

In Fitzgerald’s case he’s having ups and downs playing far fewer 5v5 minutes. I don’t think upping his ice time to the top pairing would be very fair to him.

In Bryson’s case its one of them would have to play their off hand. I don’t think they want to do that on the top pairing. Plus it would also be a jump in minutes for Bryson as well

Joker plays there for two reasons; (1) there really isn’t a better RHD option and (2) he’s being allowed to take his lumps playing top pairing minutes for the first time. Its also somewhat unusual to have two young dmen trying to figure out these minutes together.

We need to get another top 4 RHD option in the offseason.

I'm just not sure if this has a positive effect on the development for Dahlin and Jokiharju, but the choice is really not that big.

I'm wondering what role we all see Pysyk in next season if they're going to resign him. Defender of the third pair? Power's mentor? Defender #7 (he is unlikely to agree).

Not sure how Jankowski is out over Eakin and Bjork (or Hayden for that matter). He's probably one of our best bottom 6'ers.
It confuses me, we have one of the best analytical departments in the NHL, do they not have any contact with Granato? Even an eye test confirms that Bjork and Eakin are our worst forwards (Hayden is there mainly because of the grit and fighting), it's weird.

Agreed that he is better than all of them. I see the value in Hayden for sure, he's a good hockey player that simply has no offensive skill. That said, we need a guy that isn't going to roll over in a more physical game, which he definitely brings.

Jankowski is a very good 4th line center in this league, in my opinion. He makes a lot of smart plays at both ends of the ice, and has at least some skill to speak of. I'd like to see him re-signed for next year, unless they can find someone even better. He'll be cheap and still has a tad of upside.

Its gonna take several games to get in game shape but I am very interested to see what Mitts will look like flanked by two skilled wings

Why is Hagg in over Bryson/Sam? We know what we've got in Hagg... and it's not much

We actually already have one top 4 RD that could be a good mentor for Power, just re-sign him. But we also need a top 4 RD to play with Dahlin. Jokiharju remains a weird guy.

Dahlin - xxxx
Power - Pysyk
Samuelsson/Bryson - Joki/Fitz

Its "showcase season". We're not a playoff team, so meaningless wins don't matter as much short-term as increasing the returns on the moveable guys.

The fact that they're not forcing Jank out there over the guys we KNOW they're trying to move perhaps indicates they'd like to retain him past TDL (& beyond?).

We're gonna see a ton of minutes for Eakin, Hino, Hayden, Hagg, Pysyk, Miller (when he comes back), and probably split starts for Andy/Tok to try to drum up early offers.

I've seen it reported a couple different spot that Adams doesn't want to wait until TDL & is "working the phones" hard now.

The 2021/22 goal hasn't changed because they won 2 games.

There are a lot of teams starting to make moves so if Adams were to wait until the 11th hour, he's going to be left holding the bag on these guys. The East seems pretty much set with buyers and sellers since there is a clear divide between the top 8 and bottom 8. The West at least has 2 teams near enough to the wild card spots to make them possible buyers by the deadline, though Vancouver could switch from buyer to seller per the comments from their new GM, if they fall out of the race by deadline day.
