He might just be right now.

And yeah, the competition for Rangers best D isn't yet what it should be, but he's actually pretty good.

Pionk's minutes could stand to be adjusted, but he, Shatty, and ADA is a pretty loaded right side.

And of course Miller shoots left. The vision begins to fall into place.

Not enough Joey Keane

Without any kind of pressure or expectations, it’s potentiallt easier to mold him into that bottom six guy who plays an important role — not unlike Pouliot.
Think Pouliot was just better in more facets of the game than Strome is, but it would be nice to see Strome become a quality bottom-6 forward.

I do that too when I grab a tight ass.

It should be Chytil 7th pick, and not sure if Lias was the right pick in 2017 at the moment, but who else could we drafted from that year?

The challenge with the redrafting approach is that it doesn’t take into account trying to maximize the value of picks.

From a talent perspective, you could feel a guy has the potential to be one of the best players in his draft class. But if you’re sure you can nab him later, there’s not really that push to take him early.

I think it’s also worth stating that there might not be a Chytil pick without an Andersson pick. Having two picks probably had an influence on the Rangers decision to take a big swing with latter pick.

As for who else was there, I still see a lot of guys who Andersson is right there with, or better than at this point. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses. But time will tell.

and 2016 was all garnered from the trades Gorton pulled off last season at the TDL. One prospect already proving his worth and more. Hopefully the two second round dmen continue developing. Still have high hopes for Hajek

Rangers potential haul from the 2016 draft looks pretty solid considering that at the time they didn’t pick until the third round.

Can’t complain.

I can see the Rangers being sellers at the deadline but I also see them trying to sign Hayes and keep him. IMO if they can help it--they're not going to move him. Claesson is another they might try to hang onto.

Shattenkirk has also been playing a lot better. Not sure if they'll move him either.

I think they'll move Zucc though and probably McQuaid and that's even if we're in contention for a playoff spot.

But really I wasn't expecting the Rangers to be above .500 this year and this team looks like it's gelling. Part of that is vet forwards like Zibanejad, Kreider, Vesey and Hayes playing better than they ever have. Part of it is the emergence of a bunch of younger kids who are showing they have the goods like Howden, Chytil, Pionk and DeAngelo.
