That’s a pretty massive haul for two years of Brady. The roster is pretty amazing, but old and injury prone, if they stay healthy and can get a goalie though they should definitely be back in the hunt.

I’d like to see the Bruins ante up and get Robertson from Dallas

I don’t see the Tkachuks splitting up when Brady’s contract ends. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if they both get extended to deals that end at the same time.

Florida isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Carolina is built to last now as well. Montreal and Buffalo are clearly another tier above the Bruins and are the best bets against Panthers and Canes. Those are 4 incredibly tough matchups in the playoffs for at least another 3+ years. If I was a Don, I would not be so short sighted to think adding Trochek, keeping Zacha or Arviddsson, or drafting in the 20s the next few years is going to be any part of the solution to slingshot us tiers above.
Doing what you are suggesting would take approval from Jacobs.

The youngest defensemen right now in the top 6 for Toronto is going to be 30 in November. His name is Brandon Carlo.

By opening of next season for their other 5D it then goes:

30, 32, 33, 35, 36, with two birthdays bumping the "younger ones" up to 31 and 33 in season.

I mean...

I really like where our pick is going to be in 2 years because they opted not to fix this and patch over it.
Where do you expect that pick to be? Because in no way will it be a top ten pick. Leafs still have a ton of cap space. Well also expecting some of their dmen healthy this season.

Brings us back to depressed assets and salary eating imo. Take on a bad contract for a couple years. Help Dallas by taking Lyubushkin or NJ by taking the Dman they want the least - work those deals to get more assets. Amass the warchest of picks and buy low candidates like Zegras last yr

Do they really need to spend a fortune on a goalie ,Carolina won a cup with Anderson and Bussi and Vegas made the finals with Carter Heart.
My unprofessional opinion? Goalies have borderline zero value these days. I like Swayman and he can steal games, but so can the next guy in Providence.

Can we trade for Bill Zito?

Bruins are dead now

Good news no pressure

I probably would pivot and trade everyone do the Carolina and Florida 7 & 9 years of non playoffs and draft the Barkovs, Ekblads, Huberdeaus, Svetchnikovs, Staals top 5 and let the Tkachuks grow old

Florida wins 3 or 4 more Cups before Marchand retires

Brad gets 5 Cups???? Is remembered as a Panthers

I’m fine with it - we just need to have Betman rig a few drafts we will be ok
We have lived on the darkest possible timeline after 2019

I hated Sweeney for trading Marchy. For awhile. Still kind of do. But then I came around and thought hey, maybe this guy is pulling some advanced 4D chess here and ripping the bandaid off. Fast forward to today... this team is managed so poorly by these dipshits
