Not in the classic Sami Pahlsson sense, but he's an absolute pain in the ass to play against. We witnessed that on Jan 25th he was all over the place with his active stick
He was also one of those constant PITAs while with Minny too. He just seems like one of those players that always manages to get in the way and mucking things up for us.

I like this... I hope to see him doing it to others soon and often.

If CMac didn't move these pieces to go all in everyone would be upset too that he sat on his hands.

It was majorly a seller's market and they had to make changes if they wanted to compete this year. Even though the D is a bit concerning if we run into an injury or 2, but this team is much closer to competing for a Cup than they were 6 weeks ago.
But it wasn't enough, and we f***ed ourselves for next year too.

Exactly. Any hits to the D will affect most teams anyway as well, so the AVs aren't alone in this even amongst the western titans.

Having bigger guys down the middle like Nelson and Coyle may make other players play "bigger" (if that makes sense). Maybe not in a Panthers way or heavy hitting, but that they won't feel " bullied" by heavy forecheck teams either.

Going from Mitts on the 2nd line to Nelson and Coyle on the 3rd line is going to improve the team so so much.

People who are sleeping on the Avs are focused way too much on the point total and not enough on the big picture:

- Started the year with like 2 wins their first 10 games. It’s been an uphill climb since.

- Horrible goaltending issues plagued the team early on.

- Black hole at 2C the entire season.

- Weirdly constructed pass-first forward lineup.

- A ton of injuries early on.

The issues are corrected and they won 4 straight prior to all the moves. It’s the playoffs. Anyone can win, but they’ve given themselves a damn good opportunity.

It's definitely a good point. We are trending up for sure. Looking good for now!

Wonder what our average age after today is?

I like Toronto's adds. They will help out a lot, especially in the playoffs

The problem with the Leafs is that Matthews, Marner and Tavares have fragile, loser mentality when the games get tough

We better f***ing win this year, because next will be ugly.
You conveniently left out:

Necas 26 for Rantanen 28
Drury 25
Blackwood 28 which is great for a goalie

Not a single poster here would fathom the amount of massive trades Cmac has accomplished during the season. Hell, people didn't even think he would get a goalie by the deadline. Next year was always going to be ugly with our cap structure prior to the Mikko deal. There is zero point in worrying about the future when we have zero clue what type of moves he will make come off season. This team on paper is good enough to go all the way, now its up to the players to do their jobs.

All I know is id much rather have "one" last shot like we are doing , than be like the Jets , oilers and Canes who have never even tried.

Cmac didn’t just help, but completely revamped our goaltending and centre ice position this season.

Mackinnon, Nelson, Coyle, Drury down the middle. Are you kidding me?

Avs have a big boy team. It might take some tinkering to get everyone adjusted but if everyone is comfortable by playoff time this team looks incredible.

Balls

We'd better hope Charlie Coyle can be a difference maker. I feel confident that Brock Nelson will be, and we know at least in the locker room that Erik Johnson will be - but we sure shelled out 3 assets for Charlie Coyle and I don't really know why.
