I honestly dont know enough about Coyle.

Main question I have for him is, is he capable of shutting down top 6 Cs? Can we rely on him to be used in a shut down role when we play at home and have last change?

TSN absolutely loving what we did.

ODog and Giordano has us at #1 cup favorite this year after the deadline.
We definitely did the old school get tougher and bigger thing, I think the older guys will all love it. We dabbled last year with bottom six guys like Trenin and Duhaime, but this year it's super experienced versions who play center and can score and kill penalties. Coyle has always been unpleasant to play against, completely not the type of guy this team gets. This will be a lot of fun to watch down the stretch.

People who are sleeping on the Avs are focused way too much on the point total and not enough on the big picture:

- Started the year with like 2 wins their first 10 games. It’s been an uphill climb since.

- Horrible goaltending issues plagued the team early on.

- Black hole at 2C the entire season.

- Weirdly constructed pass-first forward lineup.

- A ton of injuries early on.

The issues are corrected and they won 4 straight prior to all the moves. It’s the playoffs. Anyone can win, but they’ve given themselves a damn good opportunity.

Not in the classic Sami Pahlsson sense, but he's an absolute pain in the ass to play against. We witnessed that on Jan 25th he was all over the place with his active stick

But we'd still have other assets to acquire other players. Younger ones preferably.

If CMac didn't move these pieces to go all in everyone would be upset too that he sat on his hands.

It was majorly a seller's market and they had to make changes if they wanted to compete this year. Even though the D is a bit concerning if we run into an injury or 2, but this team is much closer to competing for a Cup than they were 6 weeks ago.

I kinda feel bad for Toronto. I actually like them this year. And the moves they made today.

But within their division, FLA and TB are just as good and made just as good moves today. And at the end of the day, Vasi or Bob beat out Stolarz.
