It's gotta happen..... I mean we offered 12, Rats is asking for 13.....

Fairly easy to close that deal..... Still think it's gonna go to the wire, but if it wasn't looking like it would get done, we probably would be hearing about other offers and avenues by now.

Jim Nill is working his magic..... Fingers crossed!

The funny thing is that the deal has more potential to not work out long term, but I find myself excited about the prospect of Rants here. Hopefully, he will start a "Rants on Fire" goal scoring streak......

Since Nill would probably never do this on his own, it feels to me like TG is putting the pressure on, thinking this might be their best chance to win the Cup, later salary problems be damned.

I prefer losing Stank to Borque and felt that his move to the top line was to showcase him (and he came through with a two goal night) I gather we will now give up the firsts in 2026 and 2027. If we don't break through and win the Cup, times will get a bit lean later. And 2026 is said to be a good draft. Who would think Nill would give up first rounders in four straight years, 24-26 to win now.

But, watching the trade deadline is an exciting spectator offshoot of watching hockey.

Last thought......I think one sign of this not being a real deal is that we somehow hear about it. Nill is usually pretty good at keeping these things under his hat.

8x12 is less than offered by Avs and Canes right? So Rantanen either cracked under pressure or he really wants to be in Dallas. Probably both though.

Friedman says he doesn't know about the return. Very curious about this one.

Jim Nill is the BEST in the Business!!!

And he's on our side!

Make it official

Also, I absolutely love that Nill scoffed at Karlsson because of his contract and all the reporters fell for it. Then goes and does this.

I wouldn't question Dallasman's take on the return..... This deal was done last night, the hold up was the extension, therefore the return was previously agreed upon.

Either way..... We have made a huge statement with this trade ..... Just make it official.....hurry!
