Since Nill would probably never do this on his own, it feels to me like TG is putting the pressure on, thinking this might be their best chance to win the Cup, later salary problems be damned.
I prefer losing Stank to Borque and felt that his move to the top line was to showcase him (and he came through with a two goal night) I gather we will now give up the firsts in 2026 and 2027. If we don't break through and win the Cup, times will get a bit lean later. And 2026 is said to be a good draft. Who would think Nill would give up first rounders in four straight years, 24-26 to win now.
But, watching the trade deadline is an exciting spectator offshoot of watching hockey.
Last thought......I think one sign of this not being a real deal is that we somehow hear about it. Nill is usually pretty good at keeping these things under his hat.
