The over/under bets on Stars games just got more interesting.

Glad to see the draft picks protected and spread out more than was originally reported. What's done is done, and its up to PDB and the players to make Nill look like a genius. If they win it all, he will probably get the hat trick of GM of the year awards, but he doesn't care, as long as they win it all.

Good job HFStars, we finally prodded/berated/shamed Nill into going for it! (I'm sure it was us, had to be.)

Now we just have to hope that the team is so good that DeBoer won't have to make any adjustments, cause history says, he ain't gonna before it's too late. Also no more major injuries please. 🙏

Nill was on the Ticket. Here are the highlights of his talk about the trade and other things:

All came together in the last three hours of the deadline.

Carolina started making calls to a few teams a week ago to teams where he'd be interested in signing. Really came together two days ago. Started digging in after the game last night. Agreed on the trade at 1 am. Then started talking to the agent. Went back and forth. Got into the office at 8 am thinking it wasn't going to happen, but then they got at a call at 10:30 or 11 saying he was interested and then started working on the contract.

Carolina was sniffing around all of the young guys, but they were focused in on Stankoven.

The same agent represents Rantanen, Johnston, and Harley.

Having a bunch of Finns on the roster brings a comfort level for a new Finn joining the team.

Started talking with Johnston's agent back in October. Had talked a few times during the season. Talked to the agent after getting Rantanen done, but Nill wanted Johnston done to help plan for the future.

Rantanen will be in the lineup. He's getting on a plane to Edmonton in an hour.

Expects Miro to be ready the beginning or middle of the first round. Same with Seguin.

Full strength if all healthy, so hoping we see this for a long playoff run..

Robertson-Hintz-Granlund
Benn-Wyatt-Rantanen
Marchment-Duchene-Seguin
Steel-Borque-Dadonov

Harley-Heiskanen
Lindell-lybushkin
Bischel-Ceci

Oettinger

Back the first forward call up
Dumba D call up

Play determines the scratches vs the 4th line and bottom pair

Love this, wish we could have added another 4/5 D, but you can't complain how today went

Damn, that third line carried our team early in the season. Crazy depth.

So this is going to be a little tortured but stick with me here...

In the end, the Avs traded the #4 overall pick, a 2nd rounder, and a 3rd rounder for Charlie Coyle (22 pts) and a 5th? Do I have that right?
