Yeah, I'm good with standing pat. Or at least making a move more on their terms only. Might need to dig pretty deep to find that fit, though.
I'd prefer that over completely overpaying for a piece that's a marginal upgrade or a bad fit at best.Ovi has one last kick at the can and you want to bank it on a college player coming in. Good lord.
maybe like a dale hunter?Add Rantanen to the list of players who didn’t want to stay in Carolina along with the likes of Trochek, Dougie Hamilton, Jake Guentzel, Brett Pesce, Martin Necas, etc.
I know roster turnover is a thing, but I wonder if Rod rubs off the wrong way on more talented players. His relentless forechecking system is perfect for grinders but they really lack high end skill outside of Aho and Svechnikov (who could be argued has turned into a disappointment given his hype level and his early showings in the NHL).
Maybe Raleigh sucks, Rod sucks, the front office sucks — or maybe none of that is true and it’s just bad luck — but despite them being a team that consistently makes the playoffs, they do not seem like an organization players are dying to play for.
When Raddysh ends up in the top six in the playoffs after an injury you may be feeling differently.I'd prefer that over completely overpaying for a piece that's a marginal upgrade or a bad fit at best.
i mean, if overpaying is losing lappiere (spelling) im not that upset.I'd prefer that over completely overpaying for a piece that's a marginal upgrade or a bad fit at best.
agree, if they win the east and did nothing to try to win the cup it will be a big disapointmentCaps need to move in some chips. This league is wide open. This riding the fence approach isn’t going to get you anywhere.

Think with Rod it’s like a Hunter with Ovi thing. Rod and Dale played similar games - 200 foot commitment at all times, don’t concede any open ice, loose pucks, or room along the boards, be as committed to stopping goals as scoring them - and can’t really understand why everyone else doesn’t play like that. So they look at high skill O talent players and focus more on what they don’t do well, and less on what they do do well. Can be a drag to play forAdd Rantanen to the list of players who didn’t want to stay in Carolina along with the likes of Trochek, Dougie Hamilton, Jake Guentzel, Brett Pesce, Martin Necas, etc.

So you would have moved our first and one of Cristall/Parascak plus a conditional third for a guy like Nelson? Today is going to be silly if that is what Nelson is going to cost.Caps need to move in some chips. This league is wide open. This riding the fence approach isn’t going to get you anywhere.

If you think Mangiapane get's ragdolled on the puck and doesn't provide enough offense ... boy do I have news for you about ZegrasI think there's a slim chance the market could shift back more favorably to buyers. Not for someone like Laughton, who they ought to avoid anyway. Or a defenseman given limited options. But beyond Donato/Zucker/Palmieri there's the off chance a rebuilder may be open to moving a non-rental winger for picks to flip in the summer for further restructuring. The value would still need to be there but it's what I'd target to a greater extent. Could there be a buy-low opportunity on someone like Zegras? They've done well to target change of scenery types...might as well try it again if possible if the market is otherwise inflated. There's some risk attached in the relative maintenance level compared to others but overall targeting a younger player should be more easily justified compared to getting into a bidding war over a typical rental stopgap.
Winnipeg & Toronto definitely still need to make moves. We'll see if NJD can land a center. LAK has been looking for more scoring. VGK is lurking. Outside of that...hard to say how active today will be.
yea i didnt/dont want Nelson, Zegras, LaughtonIf you think Mangiapane get's ragdolled on the puck and doesn't provide enough offense ... boy do I have news for you about Zegras
Not in it to win it? LOL. Dude we are 1st in the league and the metro just turned into pumpkins. Just chillWhat could we get for Mangiapane or Eller on this market?
If we aren’t in it to win it why not recoup some assets for guys who we could probably have internal fill ins for.
They think they're smarter than every other organization and do the Moneyball shit of never paying their guys and trying to nickel-and-dime every single negotiation. It definitely rubs guys the wrong way. Always chasing future flexibility rather than loading up for something in the present.Add Rantanen to the list of players who didn’t want to stay in Carolina along with the likes of Trochek, Dougie Hamilton, Jake Guentzel, Brett Pesce, Martin Necas, etc.

bag of pucks, maybe a discount coupon not to be used on todays purchase. What could we get for Mangiapane or Eller on this market?

Trading Mangiapane or Eller would be some of the most loser shit a team has ever pulled lolWhat could we get for Mangiapane or Eller on this market?

sucks management is like that there. I liked Raleigh when I went to watch the caps there and the stadium atmosphere (tailgating) was great. They think they're smarter than every other organization and do the Moneyball shit of never paying their guys and trying to nickel-and-dime every single negotiation. Much like Carolina, the A's never even made a World Series let alone won one
I’m not looking at the metro my man. Tampa Bay has beefed up and are looking mean. We don’t have the depth to hang with that roster as it currently stands in a playoff brawl. We are one or two injuries from Raddysh or Mango top six.How do I stream Trade Centre? Radio or live feed?

Well, yeah, but he's more skilled at least. And slightly bigger. Still soft but, hey, he did drop the gloves with Garland the other day...It probably won't happen due to not just the additional year remaining but also likely being a riskier bet than Mangiapane. With that risk does come some reward if they can tap into his upside but that's a difficult thing to do in short order (esp. if more on his own on the third line). If you think Mangiapane get's ragdolled on the puck and doesn't provide enough offense ... boy do I have news for you about Zegras
Yea I like Palmieri a lot. Zegras would've made sense in the offseason when they didn't know what they had in Protas/McMichael/PLD and when it was just one year of awful play to get over.Well, yeah, but he's more skilled at least. Palmieri wouldn't be so bad I guess. Definitely a slim amount of fits threading the needle of what would be a consequential enough upgrade to pay a high price for.
